Re: MAC-10 9mm suppressor clone build questions
I believe that the large section was filled with shoelace eyelets (aluminum) around about a 1" ported "barrel". After the first rebuild the SOP was to replace the eyelets in the expansion chamber with "Chore Girl" Copper or Stainless scrubbing pads. Those cans were less tha...

The rule of thumb is 1.181 x Projectile diameter with .00005" run-out over the length of tube up to 9".

Re: Over bore
id you use a Sound Pressure meter? The commercial cans are about bores are usually 1.181 x the projectile diameter. So you bore diameter, provided you have no appreciable run-out is a bit over but, provided you concentricity is on the money it shouldn't pose a problem. I doubt you will detect a diff...

Does anyone know the Thread Diameter and Pitch for the Sig SRD45? I am talking about the End Caps, NOT the Nielson Device Piston. Thank you.

Re: Suppressing 40SW 180gr 900fps
whiterussian: Good post. To answer some, if not all of your points. 1) All of my existing Cans are F1s. Some are Clipped 60deg cones, some "clipped Ms", one "K" style. 2) All are designed to shoot dry. 3) All have Inconel Blast Chamber Liners and Blast Baffles. 4) The rest of the...

Suppressing 40SW 180gr 900fps
I have Form 1s for 9mm, 45acp, 7.62, and 5.56. I'm waiting on a F1 to come back for a 45acp build. But, I see very little info on 40sw. I do not want the "10mm light" discussion. I want suppress one of my Pistol Cal ARs. I have one in 9mm, one in 40sw and one in 45acp. I've been down the 4...

Source for a rebuild on a Sionics Suppressor for MAC10 in 45acp
Any suggestions? Yeah I know, but, the Super Wipe (installed prior to the ruling) and the baffles are pretty ugly. The Expansion Chamber has had the rivets removed ~30yrs ago and replaced with Copper Chore girl. The wipes used to be easy to get (pre-86...thank you NRA). But, now it's easier to send ...

Re: Considering QD mounts for form 1
Unless you are going to remove/replace several times (*>10x in an hour) I'd avoid Multi-Start threads. If someone else is doing the work, it's going to cost you more. If you're doing it yourself the opportunity for an "oops". I use a simple .750 -12TPI Acme with the Mount/Brake using a 45d...

Re: End cap has 13/16x 16 threads. Which flash suppressor to get?
Are you making you own end caps? if so use a SD Tactical Muzzle Brake and thread the interior of the Cap to match. IIRC 13/16 x 12 ACME might be 3/4 x 12 acme.

Re: Maintaining clipped baffle alignment on a threaded cap style Tube
I have clipped similar to Curtis Tactical's Huntertown Upgrade. You did a half moon clip? Alignment with that style isn't as critical as typical asymmetric, although I don't like the half moon for centerfire. Better than no clip, though..... ECCO Machine: Thank you fr your input that means a great ...

Re: Maintaining clipped baffle alignment on a threaded cap style Tube
If you put the alignment rod hole up close to the outer edge of the cone, it wouldn't make it sound worse. Matter of fact, it would probably make it sound better by directing some of the gas and pressure away from the center line of the bore. Just a guess of course. "Oh I want to believe you!&...

Maintaining clipped baffle alignment on a threaded cap style Tube
https://image.ibb.co/cxLYhA/20181122-103723.jpg I am using a SDTA Ti Tube and end caps. My Baffles are a "M" style (see image). I have clipped similar to Curtis Tactical's Huntertown Upgrade. The challenge is maintaining alignment as I tighten the end caps. My first thought was a mouse ho...

Re: Pictures of Sectioned and X-rayed Silencers - Update Gemtech - RSA - F1
Amazing thread!! I was shocked to see the number of 5.56 suppressors that utilize a low number of baffles. I was trying to tell if those cans clip the baffles. Particularly the Gemtechs. I've shot the M4-2000 and it was very quiet on a 14" M4.

Re: Silencers, dirty brass, and malfunctions. I need some help
Kind of late to the game. I had a similar issue with my 7.5" 300BO SBR using 220gr Berry's and CFEBLK. I went back to 1680 or IMR4227 and the problem seemed to resolve itself. In my 5.56mm 7.5" SBR I I had a similar issue (not the greenish brass). In this gun I installed an Adams Piston Co...

Re: Silencers, dirty brass, and malfunctions. I need some help
I had the same issue with a SBR 300BO (Pistol length gas system. I used an Adam's Piston Kit. Problem solved. I played with the AGB. I used the Noveske. The problem was adjusting it with the extended handguard in place.

Clipping "M" Style Baffles
My next F1 Can is going on my 7.5" bbl on my 16A2 lower. I was planning on the first 4 M styles being Inconel and the remaining 5 being 17-4ph. In the past my other F1 builds were 60 degree clipped cones (17-4 ph Blast baffles, balanced 7075-T6). With the price on Inconel 718 being what ir is ...

Re: Hole drilling
My recommendation is a Lathe with at least a 2" Spindle pass through. You should have a good TP mounted Indicator, a good assortment of Carbide or Cobalt Center drilll, Carbide or Cobalt twist drills and the appropriate Carbide Reamers. Yeah, I know it's pricey, but, you get what you pay for. T...

Re: RoninPro SP1 for 40/45acp
The kit doesn't look too bad, except for the price. Materials are decent. (Although Al, 304 and 303 don't command high pricing) Baffle design is good. (The lack of an integral spacer will make fixing the baffle, for bore and clip, difficult) Tube & caps have some detail. The tube is only 6"...

SD Tactical Muzzle Brake External Threads???
Does anyone know what the external thread diameter and pitch happen to be? SD only states that they are proprietary. To me, proprietary equals, "stuck with SD Tactical". I've measured a SD QD Muzzle brake and it appears (to me anyway) to be a .808" Major/ .746 Minor External Thread. T...
