Re: New! Octane Front Cap Wrench

PLA polymer, which is robust enough for this application. I've shipped 103 of these without problems. I received mine this morning, and have tested it. It works GREAT. When you compare the pattern on this wrench to the pattern of the piston, you'll see that Chase has lengthened the "teeth"...

Re: Saker 7.62 ASR or Specwar 7.62?

I had convinced myself my next buy would be a Saker 7.62 ASR to dedicate to an 18" 6.5 Grendal that has been sharing an old style Saker 7.62 with it's 12.5" 6.5 Grendel little brother. Everything is ASR now. Then walked into local shop and they are closing out the Specwar 7.62 for $550 so...

Re: Does anyone know the Silencerco Omega 9k/Octane tube thread pattern?

I don't know it and don't have one here to measure, but just use a thread pitch gauge and then measure the ID of the thread minor diameter and add the double depth of the pitch. 28 pitch is .046" double depth. Am I misreading the instructions, or is the math wrong? I would think 28 * 2 would b...

And TBAC has a great reputation for customer service. I've not had to try it myself, but that did factor into my decision.

Re: Dead Air Wolf-9SD Body Wrench design

I recently designed a Dead Air Wolf-9SD body wrench. This design engages the recesses on both the serial-numbered rear and the front sections, so now I can apply more torque to my Wolf-9SD suppressor from the front than just by hand. My previous wrench designs for Omega 9K/45K/Octane and Wolf-9SD m...

Re: Omega 9K/45K/Octane Mount Wrench (And for Dead Air Wolf 9SD too!)

The Problem: The Solution: I 3D modeled and printed a wrench that interfaces with the Octane/Omega 9K direct thread/piston mounts. Silencerco does not make a wrench for these. My wrench is a high-strength PLA polymer material that will break if way too much torque is applied, but if you torque it o...

Re: Destruction to close stamp

This is looking like the easiest solution. Even if my form 4s could be sent to the manufacturers for destruction I have a form 1 SBR. Its ridiculous because the receiver is the same as any other but it is what it is. What kind of SBR? If it is an AR15-based SBR, the executor can sell the short uppe...

Re: Destruction to close stamp

One thing I neglected to mention earlier - let your executor know that the NFA stamps themselves have some value after the silencer/SBS/SBS/whatever is disposed of. If the clip the corner of the Form1/Form4, they can sell those to stamp collectors (numismatists, as opposed to all of us on this forum...

Re: Destruction to close stamp

Otherwise, smash the silencer with a sledgehammer and toss it in a deep lake. Done. Even the BATFE won't dig you up to shoot you. No, they wouldn't dig you up. Granted, IANAL, but they might harass the executor to prove that the NFA items were properly disposed of. So, if ATF has proof, via Form 1 ...

Section c was removed in 2015, look up current Texas penal codes if you want to confirm this. Under current law it is not a defense to prosecution, but even better It's not an offense to begin with if registered with atf, if not registered it is an offense. A defense to prosecution defense, means y...

Has anyone used one of these with a can? I know that's what it's for, but I was just curious since the front end of the block looks like it has a slight radius where the threaded muzzle of the barrel extends from the block. Wanted to make sure that there was a sufficient flat space for the can to se...

Re: Engraving individual to trust

^^^this^^^ When you build a new NFA firearm, you have to file a Form 1 Application to Make and Register, meaning that whoever files the Form 1 (the trust or you as an individual) are the maker. The law requires that the manufacturer OR maker engrave name and city/state. You are now filing Form 4 App...

The Ti-rant 45M is a titanium tube, baffles B-5 are stainless, 6-9 are aluminum. OK. They must have changed since the original TiRant 45. Pretty sure that only the blast baffle was stainless on that one. Still, those last four aluminum baffles in the 45M will require a lot more manual attention whe...

Re: Thinking of getting Centerfire Suppressor - Help Please

Not sure how they compare in terms of FRP, but you might want to consider something like an Octane 45 or the Rugged Obsidian or Dead Air Ghost. I believe (ready to be corrected if I'm wrong) that all of these have stainless steel baffles. This makes it much easier to clean than the TiRant, which has...

Do mfrs have to pay $200?

I was wondering, do manufacturers have to file a Form 1 and pay $200 for each suppressor that they build? Or is that covered somehow by their annual SOT? If they have to pay the same $200 as we do, how can Silencer Shop sell Radical Firearms rimfire suppressors for $211? There's not enough room for ...

You still had to do a NCIC check when you did the 4473. Nothing has changed. Previously, a NICS check was performed on the individual who picked up the NFA item from the dealer (after the Form 4 was approved). New regs require fingerprints and photographs for ALL "responsible persons" in ...

I already have a Specwar 7.62, but am looking for one more before 41p becomes law (if ever).
