Re: AAC 556 SD
I couldn't ever get a JAG lawyer to do a trust for me. They can do wills and powers of attorney and that is about it. None would ever do a trust, never told them it was for a NFA just asked if they could do a regular trust. I went the Willmaker route and just had them notarize it for me.

20 years in the military with lots of range and deployment time with the M16/M4. Never seen or heard of this happening.

Re: In state form 4 transfer
Was looking at efile for a form 1 not the form 4. From what little research I've done so far I thought I could do the efile form 1, am I wrong on this? It's been 3 years since my last SBR build and I haven't stayed up on things.

Re: In state form 4 transfer
Bendersquint, thanks. It's in Oklahoma. Been awhile since I did my last Form 4 and this would be the first person to person. Might end up passing on it since my FIL wont want to travel and doubt the seller will either. Are the any good posts or links to how to use the E-file, never done it? Also goi...

In state form 4 transfer
Ok guys I haven't been able to find the answers that I am looking for. Looking at buying a suppressor from another in state resident. One problem is that I am currently deployed and cant do this face to face. This will be a form 4 transfer from and individual to my trust. So here are the questions: ...

Re: I'm in the military and confused about suppressor owners
Wait till you get to Texas to start things. Go ahead and find a dealer near where you will be based in Texas, find the suppressor you want (recommend using one of the dealers on the board here), have them transfer the suppressor to the dealer in Texas (will have to wait for the Form 3 to clear), sup...

Re: Potential Issues With NFA Item Ownership on Active Duty
I bought two suppressors while I was at Campbell and living on post. You have two ways you can deal with things. First you will have to use a trust since the likelyhood of getting the Provost Marshall to sign off on the forms is zero. So go with a Trust. Now depending on which route you go will dete...

PPS-43 mags - SPF
I've got 6 PPS-43 mags that I want to get rid of. I got them a couple of years ago for a 7.62 Tok AR project but I've since canned that so these are just sitting around taking up space. SPF - $60 + shipping for all 6. USPS MO only (no Paypal) Will only ship where they are legal for you to own. PMs o...

Re: Anyone firsthand experience with Aviator?
I can't really compare my Aviator to anything else since it is the only 22 can I have. But on my Buckmark with a 4" barrel it is a pleasure to shoot. The first time I shot it, I was wearing some electronic muffs and was like this thing is loud, until I took the muffs off and realized that the m...

Re: Revocable Living Trust
It doesnt have to be a Colorado Notary. The JAG clerks are authorized to notarized under title 10 USC (at least I think it is under title 10) anyway they have their own verbage that you can replace on the quicken trust or they can just write over it with the military info. Military notaries are not ...

Re: Revocable Living Trust
Also, make sure you send a copy of the trust, maintain the orginal someplace safe. In fact make a couple of copies so you have backup. But yes, you send the Form 1 (or 4 depending), cert of compliance, copy of trust to include the Schedule A (with the AR receiver listed), and a MO or check for $200....

Re: Revocable Living Trust
JAG will probably not do the Trust. Basically they can knock out wills and powers of attorneys and can notarize, but I have yet to find a JAG that will do a trust for me and I have gotten to know a couple of them pretty well. Since they are not estate attorneys they are not comfortable with doing th...

Re: SBR Caliber and Barrel Length on a Form 1
List the barrel length and caliber that you will initially build the SBR with. Then you can change out to your hearts desire. If you are going to permantly change the caliber and barrel length, you can update the ATF.
I dont know if there are any state limitations for AL though.

Re: Trust questions from a military member
Here's what I would do if I was you - get a VA state ID card, not a driver's license. That way the whole residency issue goes away. You can have a VA DL or state ID card and still be a TX residence as far as taxes go. To get a VA ID card, and you get to keep your TX Drivers License you need: Your Mi...

Re: Trust questions from a military member
First off I'm not a lawyer but this is what I have found over the last couple years of being in the Army and starting my NFA collection. I've used quicken to for my trusts. No problems with two suppressors being approved and an SBR in the works. Most SBRs and suppressors planned once funds are avail...
