Re: Washer build

I'd get more baffles in there (you can space closer to 7/16-9/16") and drop that blast spacing to "quite small".
If you can make a die and press them into a slight cone shape, as well as clip, you'd have even better performance.

I inquired about purchasing a set of screws for a forearm that's no longer made and they just sent them to me, for free. So, I have a hard time believing they won't help you w/ a product that has a lifetime warranty. Regardless of whether or not the silencer is out of production or the fact you only...

Personally, I'd file now and get the paperwork moving. There's nothing illegal about this and you can always amend an unbuilt form.

1.875x6 should be plenty for 9mm subs.
Something like the YHM Sidewinder wouldn't be unpossible on 3 axis.

My 4.5" AR22 will sometimes get Fed Bulk to go super.

Re: Good 80% Silencers

There are no good true "kits". Most of them are cheap Chinese parts with a generic design. Tons of info on this topic, on this page alone. Slightly different than doing an SBR, where you only need to swap barrels or install a pistol upper. Paperwork is the same. All that info has been prov...

As the good Cpt said, a longer tube would be much better. I would shoot for 8.5"min.
50's are better w/ HV centerfire ammo
Progressively space them, like .75 .7 .65 .6 .55, etc
2 HT 17-4 followed by Ti should be fine.

Re: Critique my AK suppressor

The bore taper is to account for eccentric AK threads if I taper Large to small wouldn’t that defeat the purpose of increasing bore diameter to prevent strikes from eccentric threading? No. You can account for this in the dia of your end baffle and work backwards. Designing your way defeats the eff...

Re: Critique my AK suppressor

2.25-2.5 Blast length I'd go .08 for the Blast Baffle. Weight increase is negligible, but life expectancy is prolonged. When you say 50* baffle, how are you measuring it? It's based off the included angle, across the centerline, when looking at a cross section. You can also calculate it by subtracti...

Re: Need To Critique This Design

I agree w/ the Capt. Also, I wouldn't cut the blast spacer as you have. Ports near the distal side, to vent into the coaxial volume, would be more adequate and help protect the outer tube. Try to incorporate indexing clips, to help align the baffle clipping and coaxial vanes. Personally, I'd increas...

I can't agree with this part.
My 4.5" AR15/22, can hit 3.5" swingers @100yds, from a wiped can.

Also, the end user can legally replace wipes. ATF has never reversed this decision.

Re: R8 my 3D printed Form1 design

Why build something that's easily machined? Why are you using plastics? Need to be overly thick, wasting crucial volume. Always clip baffles. IMHO, it's a waste of a stamp. You're not doing anything that hasn't been done, it won't be an optimal design for 22lr, and it won't last as long as tradition...

Re: Advice plz: 5.56 end cap hole size, engraving location

A Chinese, Aluminum, monocore is a horrible choice, horrible. Regardless of your first go'round, don't do it. Exit bore relies on design, but stay >.080in over caliber. You can engrave whatever you want. Some do endcap, some the mount, most do the tube. Placement on tube near midle or closer to mou...

If you're going to do a 10/22, just do a really good muzzle can, that you could swap between hosts. The action of the 10/22 doesn't let you get to hollywood quiet. If you wanted to do a bolt gun, go integral, all day long. My integral 22 is a Savage MKII w/ an ~8" monocore. It falls into the st...

Re: What would cause inaccuracy when hot?

I'd say that was more luck than anything. I would never go less than .040" diametral clearance, usually run .050"-.060". No suppression is gained by going tighter, just the potential for issues like the OP's. I didn't chose that bore arbitrarily, it was a decision based on previous r...

Re: What would cause inaccuracy when hot?

Not sure of OP's design, but I've done 9mm K's (what the OP is using) w/ a bore of ~.386. That's only 16thou clearance, per side. No issues w/ accuracy and marginal POI shift.
