Re: Clipping baffles without a mil
How about using a tool grinder or Dremel tool holder on your lathe, with the part chucked up? Its a relatively small tool investment. This was my second idea. But in a rotary tool attached to the cross slide. Baffle in the Chuck locked into back gears. Heck zip ties would even work for a temporary ...

No prob!
Throw some bluing on there and lets see your engagement! I'll be honest, I don't even check for full engagement any more. They seem to cinch down nice even if I'm off a touch when setting the compound.

Re: 460 rowland suppressed - mac10 clone DIY delayed blowback
I’m thinking of doing this https://ibb.co/eRKVH7 The barrel and top of the bolt are closer together in reality than the drawing. Half circle in the bolt represents a shallow pit milled out and it’s followee by a small drilled hole to better capture the gas coming out of the barrel. One right beyond...

Figured out the place that sells exactly what I need and is a very reputable company. Just had to know the right places to look and how to ask the right questions. I thank those that have answered m questions and I appreciate it. But everything I’ve read on all the forums is people scared to death ...

Re: 460 rowland suppressed - mac10 clone DIY delayed blowback
Can you please draw what you're trying to describe. https://i.imgur.com/p6qqavVh.jpg If your bolt stroke is 3" then your piston stroke needs to be as well. The rear of the gas block needs a hole in the back that will be the size of your piston rod. Well I'm on your page...I'm just not sure if ...

Re: 460 rowland suppressed - mac10 clone DIY delayed blowback
Again, the only thing the gas(no rod here) will do is slow down the cycling of the bolt to keep pressures at safe levels when the case is extracted so that I don’t have a case rupture or best the gun up too much. I thought about the rod method a bit more and since the gas blow would need to be open...

Re: 460 rowland suppressed - mac10 clone DIY delayed blowback
So how doable is implementing this on a mac, or even a blowback AR. I was pessimistic about OP's mac plans but this could be the path to success. Even in a 9mm mac or AR this could be very valuable allowing bolt carrier weight to be greatly reduced. go read through my 9mm upper concept thread on th...

Re: 460 rowland suppressed - mac10 clone DIY delayed blowback
Id need to see much higher frame rate footage before I was convinced. Id imagine footage of a blowback 380 or a highpoint would look the same. It APPEARS as if the slide doesnt move until the bullet leaves, but that's not the case with blowback guns. Edit: yep. Just as I suspected. https://youtu.be...

Re: 460 rowland suppressed - mac10 clone DIY delayed blowback
It doesn't need to completely counteract the bolt thrust. Even a partial resistance will delay the action. Isn't that the core concept here? If the piston completely counteracts the bolt thrust then the gun won't cycle at all It cycles once the pressure on the piston drops. After the bullet leaves ...

Re: 460 rowland suppressed - mac10 clone DIY delayed blowback
Now you need a big rod to resist the tension forces imparted by the bolt thrust. 40,000 * .225*.225*3.14 = 6,350lb of bolt thrust (these are rough numbers) Be careful calculating bolt thrust around here. Some people get really upset. He won't need the rod to be able to withstand the full 6300...

Re: Griffin QD muzzle brake dimensions
I've got a lot of mileage out of that drawing! As why I made sure to link to your thread. If I may ask a question. What is the point (not purpose) of a blast shield? You're completely negating the purpose of a flash hider or muzzle brake, by covering them. A flash hider will have a huge flam...

What a neat concept. I never knew there were guns using this system. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/26/P7_Gas-DelayBBack.PNG/800px-P7_Gas-DelayBBack.PNG yup P7 are awesome. They get hot after a couple of magazines though. Not surprising when the "gas block" is righ...

Re: 460 rowland suppressed - mac10 clone DIY delayed blowback
Wrong...the flutes float the case with gas to AID extraction not to delay it. Seacamp pistols used a ring in the chamber to delay it. On the P7 the gas is holding the slide shut with a piston not pushing the slide rearward. There is nowhere to put a rod of sufficient diameter on a MAC that can be l...

Re: 460 rowland suppressed - mac10 clone
After some thought I’ve changed my mind about going with the Glock 21 as my platform due to concerns with durability of the polymer frame. I’m now really considering instead getting a mac10 clone such as the vmac45 or a master pierce arms, leaning towards the vmac nickel plated, in combination with...

Re: Reverse two stage
I'm not sure what gun you're making this for, but I used a freefloated handguard tube on my integral as the suppressor body. Even tapped some holes for movable/removable rails and such. Adds nothing in length, only a few oz of weight added due to the baffles and spacers, has a ton of internal space...

Re: Reverse two stage
In my ported integral 45 I use plated bullets. Cheap, yet they have a protective layer for use in silencers. Keeping the ports away from the chamber minimises velocity loss yet still aids in suppression. My handguard is tubular aluminum so I'm not worried about firing it without the can (although I...

Re: Reverse two stage
Haha good point. What type of handguard are you using? Why are you opposed to shooting it without the silencer installed with barrel ports? I'd do a ported integral and just shoot it without the can in any PCC events. Walnut handguard hopefully. I would have to keep the tube on at a minimum and jus...

Re: It almost looks like a silencer baffle but ...
The ATF failed to prove that these reduced the report of a firearm (sans tube) and so it was ruled that they're not silencer parts. No reason you couldn't make a tube slightly longer than the body potion, threaded at either end. Rear adapter, w/o muzzle threads, compressing the monocore against the...
