Re: Question on legal limits of bore clearance?
Does the Econo-Can have caliber markings? The pics I seen on the net, and videos (Hitchcock45) don't show the caliber markings of this silencer. Just curious.

Re: Question on legal limits of bore clearance?
^^^ You didn't change the caliber of the silencer, you just sent a smaller bullet through the hole. The size of the hole is still the same. And if you over bore to prevent baffle strikes, you didn't change the caliber. Nothing in the regulations stating a .22 has to be bored to .280", you can ...

Re: Question on legal limits of bore clearance?
I('m involved on the fringes of a discussion on another forum regarding bore clearances for Form 1 silencers. In this particular thread the OP inquired about being able to change the caliber of a silencer once the stamp had been issued. While most were quick to point out that ATF very specifically ...

Re: MP35N blast baffle?
Well cutting MP35n wasn't too bad, wouldn't want to do it all the time though. Here is how the blast baffle turned out. Re: I'm turning titanium!!! Questions?
Coolant will help a lot, not plain water, but a coolant used for lathe/mill. I use Cimstar 40b pink, but you'll find all kinds of coolant types. Going by memory, I had my spindle rpm around 300 and feed around .007". This was with cemented carbide sharpened on a diamond wheel, then by hand with...

Re: MP35N blast baffle?
Yes, tube was from a flashlight project....... The MP35n is in the annealed state. I've been reading up on machining it, and most are saying its a PITA!! But free scrap makes me want to give it a try. I also thought about using D2 steel, then get it hardened. Unless I can find 718 at a cheap price f...

MP35N blast baffle?
I have access to free MP35N scrap bar that I was thinking about "trying" to use for a blast baffle. The question is, how would this material hold up? I've never machined MP35n before, but willing to give it a try. Caliber 5.56 in a 16" AR, I don't do mag dump, just plinking with my ki...

Re: Titanium tube question
Grade 5 is the king of titanium. BUT, it is only available in solid form. It cannot be drawn over a mandrel to make tubes because it will crack. If you want a Gr 5 tube you have to bore it out from solid. Otherwise, Grade 9 tubing does well. Sure there is, we make it at work. I work in a tubing fac...
