Re: JMPF or TYCA Maglite Stainless cups reviews
Because I am one of the members that believes that information should be shared and Poolshark's product makes it easier for those without machining skills to have a successful F1 experience, this is the information I gathered from playing around on CAD; Number of Zmachineworx 1.355" OD, 1.388&q...

SDTA tubes
I have been able to use my google-foo to locate the ID of the SDTA carbon steel tubes, roughly 1.355 +/-.010, but have come up short on verifying if the SDTA TI tubes have the same ID or if they are slightly larger or smaller. Does anyone have an SDTA Ti tube they could take an ID measurement on. Th...

Re: JMPF or TYCA Maglite Stainless cups reviews
Poolshark, Do you have a CAD model of your funnels? I see on your website it states that the OAL is 1.388, but with some of the cone overlapping I am unable to calculate how many would be needed for a 7.5" SDTA tube with ends? Do you have a measurement for the length of the spacer only? This wo...

Re: blast chamber length
I am not disagreeing with Boyle's law P1*V1=P2*V2 But I am also not sure that barrel volume will be the best starting point for blast chamber volume, just by using the following example (obviously please let me know if I have something incorrect) Example: 16" .223 caliber Pi=3.14 (simplified) L...

Re: 300 Blackout form 1 design help
C5, thank you for the response. I know this wasn't my thread, but I am interested in the content. for your blast baffle cone, do you have any dater holes?

Re: 300 Blackout form 1 design help
I will say, I didn't expect such silence on this topic. I promise I have done my proper due diligence, I am currently a black belt in google-fu, and have looked through the completed builds and baffle pic sections. I can get an idea of what spacing should be, but was wondering if anyone would be wil...

Re: 300 Blackout form 1 design help
- KG, not meaning to hijack thread, but I am also interested in the same questions 1) recommended blast chamber size (with and without dater in first blast baffles) with 60 degree cones 2) with best suppression in mind, could a compensator be used as a blast chamber threaded in front of an end cap, ...

Re: Casting Suppressor Baffles
Capt. - thanks for the compliment, although I do have some experience in casting, I agree that this would require more effort than just machining the baffles in the first place. My machining skills would need to improve before I attempt my first form 1. I have not yet filed my form 1, but I am curre...

Re: Casting Suppressor Baffles
Speed6 - if I choose to pursue this I would most likely cast the bore as .290-.300. the OD bore would need to be machined or sanded depending upon what tolerance can be held while casting. A little background information I forgot to add in first post. Since this would be using aluminum this would be...

Casting Suppressor Baffles
A recent topic of 3D printed baffle or cores has got me thinking, would it be feasible to cast a baffle out of aluminum using the "Lost Wax" method of casting. I have seen youtube videos of people making small aluminum furnaces to smelt aluminum cans. If someone were to create first a &quo...

Re: DIY Electro-etcher
Although I have seen the electro-etcher used on many of my projects, I will say that I am a bit of a novice when it comes to knowing its capabilities. I have seen it electro-etch many 360 half-hard brass, 300 series and 17-4 H900 Stainless steels, and anodized 6061 aluminum, but I have not seen it u...

Re: DIY Electro-etcher
Hello, long time lurker, first post Background: I am an Aircraft Product Engineer for a manufacturer that supplies the aerospace industry, located in the Midwest. The company that I work for has a production electro-etch setup, but I never considered this a viable option for marking suppressors or f...
