Re: Octane 9: Looking for top tier 9mm pistol host for dedicated range role. Heavy, low bore axis, no gas in the face.
1911 seems like a no-brainer for your requirements. I would say one of the Elite Tangoflios, but threaded barrels are hard to come by, and any of the tapered cone variants (Limited, Gold, Etc.) are an expensive proposition for adapters. I'll do them, but it doesn't come cheap. I forgot to mention s...

Octane 9: Looking for top tier 9mm pistol host for dedicated range role. Heavy, low bore axis, no gas in the face.
I'm struggling to find opinions of people that have experience comparing with multiple handgun hosts. The interwebs say the 226 and the USP are the best hosts ever, but I just don't love them even though I want to. I love my CZ 75 SP-01, but it is extremely gassy in the face. Glock 17 is not gassy i...

Re: Group buy: new SilencerCo low profile 3-lug mount
Unfortunately I am unable to source a price that makes it worth the time to organize a group buy. I have a feeling the current market is part of the problem, in addition to this product already being a good seller.

Group buy: new SilencerCo low profile 3-lug mount
I'm considering organizing a one-time group buy of the new SilencerCo 3-lug mount if I get enough people to participate that will allow me to negotiate a significant price break. I have seen these mounts go as low as $100, so I am not planning to move forward with this group buy unless I can negotia...

Suppressing a S&W Shield 9mm: Should I be concerned about effecting durability
On my S&W Shield 9mm I have access to a SilencerCo threaded barrel and an Octane 9. There's a lot of blowback that I counter with a facemask and hat (and the eye pro i wear 100% of the time at the range) but I started thinking I might want a heavier spring (not sure if one even exists for the Sh...

Re: Suppressed AR and dirty 223: how often to clean and what lube?
a once fired 5.56 brass case sells for more than the difference in price though. Whether you reload them yourself or sell them. the brass cases are cheaper, without the wear of steel cases. its worth it for me to pick them up, or shoot with a brass catcher, and reload them. if you dont reload, sell...

Re: Suppressed AR and dirty 223: how often to clean and what lube?
How often do you clean a suppressed 223 AR that runs dirty steel cased ammo (Wolf)? I'd also like to hear recommendations on what grease/lube to apply at friction points for my particular scenario. Steel Wolf ammo caused three breakages for me. I will never run that stuff again. It is filthy and da...

Suppressed AR and dirty 223: how often to clean and what lube?
I had some FTEs the other day and one of the times the spent case was stuck pretty tightly in the chamber. I had to apply significant pressure to the charging handle to get the bolt to open and eject the case. The case looked normal when i inspected it. This was the point that I realized I haven't c...

Re: Best 9mm Suppressor?
I am thinking about getting a pistol can before the new NFA rules take effect next month. ) As far as I know it becomes law THIS month, July 13th. This is my understanding as well. Your best bet, if you are looking to transfer under current rules, is to find it in stock in your state or to buy some...

Re: Best 9mm Suppressor?
Right now the most popular pistol suppressor is the Rugged Obsidian, but they only make it in 45, however it's a common recommendation for a 9mm host. The SilencerCo Octane was the most popular prior to that. Check out CapitolArmory.com

Re: Deciding on a 7.62 Can
Seems to me the Omega doesn't get the credit it deserves considering the video that Capitol Armory put out showing it standing up to multiple full auto mag dumps. No one even has the ammo budget to do that on any kind of regular basis, and I'm sure you could do what they did a few times a year and y...

Re: Suppressed 7.5 5.56
I was under the impression that a 10.3 barrel in 5.56 is barely adequate for cqb. Have you researched performance of your 7.5 barrel? I'm curious how you made the decision to go that short for that caliber.

I've shot both side by side with Shockwave Blade's on them. All 3 of the guys I was with agreed the Scorpion was the better shooter. The controls felt better. The gun was just outstanding to shoot.

What do you see as the pros and cons of each? Im looking for something in 762 with great suppression without going as heavy/long as a Specwar 762.AlabamaPaul wrote:What are your priorities? they are two totally different purposed cans.

Re: 10.5" AR 5.56. Omega? Specwar? I'm stuck..
I saw this thread before there were any replies and I was going to write basically the same thing that rimshaker wrote, except I got sidetracked. So I came back to respond and I see that he beat me to it. Yeah, for hard SBR use I'd recommend the Saker. I got a Saker 5.56, but that's because I alrea...

10.5" AR 5.56. Omega? Specwar? I'm stuck..
I am stuck deciding on a suppressor for my 6lb 10.5" 5.56 AR. I've tried the Omega, but I think I want something as quiet as possible so I was thinking Specwar 762. I only want to buy 1 can, and I'm worried that I might regret the weight of the Specwar, but I really would like something quieter...

Best suppressor for CZ Scorpion S1 (9mm)
I'm willing to go all out for the best 9mm suppressor for a CZ Scorpion SBR. Research is telling me the Octane HD is the can I should get. Is there anything else I should be considering? Thanks for your input!
