Re: Any Private Person Actually Got an Obsidian 45 Yet?
I've run my Obsidian on an HK45CT and Glock 17 and it's been great so far. Haven't tried it on my 300blk yet so I can't comment on that, but on the pistols, using subsonic in the Glock, it was surprisingly quiet. It doesn't feel heavy enough to throw off the balance, even in the long configuration. ...

Re: best 308 semi auto hunting rifle for my Omega can
I stumbled across an M&P10 at a price I couldn't pass up, and couldn't be happier with it. Mine was very basic so I swapped out the handguard and trigger, and put a qd break for my omega. I think now they come with Magpul furniture though. It's still very light for the platform. If you want an a...

Re: Obama's last anti-gun push, UN Arms Trade Treaty
I remember the uproar about this and the UN coming to take everyone's guns. If you take the time to read it it has no authority to influence laws within the US. I know we need to be vigilant to make sure we keep the rights we have but I'm getting tired of fear mongering that has been driving the gun...

Re: Tirant 45 Piston/Spacer help
Yup.. What he said. Unless you use it on a rimfire or a rifle host, you'll probably not need the spacer. If when you rack the slide the chamber drops down out of the way, you need the spring.fishman wrote:1911 barrels are not fixed during cycling

Re: Form 3 question
Congratulations on joining the club. The only advice I can give is to have patience. I recently purchased 2 cans about a month apart and had the second one approved 2 months before the first one. There are average times, then your outliers, especially with the rush earlier this year.

Do you have the Texas law that states suppressors are illegal? I'm a little confused that there's a law saying they're illegal but they're legal to hunt with.

Re: How to break the bond of 242 blue Loctite??
Methylene chloride, aka dichloromethane, is commonly used to weld acrylic materials together. Weld-On 3 is a common brand if you can find it. Not sure it will work but that would be your best bet unless you know someone that works in a lab.

Re: ATF processing time
I don't. I purchased it and the stamp together, then the shop sent in the payment. I know they mailed everything off within a couple days, but not sure when it went pending or the check cashed. From what I hear they are usually pretty excited to collect their money so I'm kinda surprised it took 6 w...

Re: SilencerCo Omega Blows Off Gun and Ruins Mule Deer Hunt!
I totally empathize and agree that sucks, but you know s--t happens. I have an omega and have shot hundreds of 5.56, 300blk, and .308 with the qd and not a single problem. Every time you blow a tire or the fridge dies and ruins your food do you want to go sue someone? If someone got injured I might ...

In section 5 where it says having a license or permit is a defense against prosecution. As long as you have an approved form 1 before you start you'll be good.

Unless I'm misunderstanding.. Form 4 transfers still require the fingerprints and photo. By not having to do the dealer to dealer transfer (Form 3) you are saving several months but all requirements are still the same.

At the moment I have 3 suppressors and an sbs awaiting approval. The first was an Obsidian submitted Jan 3 and still waiting on the stamp. I haven't called to see if it's been approved but I'm about to since my dealer's tracking dates haven't changed in over a month (showing the same Dec receipt dat...

Re: Rugged Obsidian 45 Availability
That makes sense.. I didn't realize they were anodizing AND cerakoting. Seems like a bad way to save a few pennies based on the feedback so far. Personally if I had the choice on mine I'd take a uniform coating, but it is by no means a deal breaker. It'll be interesting to see how they look after 10...

Re: Rugged Obsidian 45 Availability
Does anyone know what the benefit of changing this for the production models would be? My thinking is that they could decrease production time by using a uniform coating and the cost couldn't be much different, but I'm not sure what the pros would be for doing this.

Re: Omega??? How many have them in hand???
I've had mine since August. Shot .308 out of a bolt and AR, 5.56, 300blk super & sub. Shot mostly 300blk and 5.56 with probably 1000rds total so far. Right now I have a 30 end cap and direct thread on a 8" 300blk.. Very short, light & quiet. For 308 I run a break with the ASR and the an...

Anyone have a lead on these? I need a piston for my HK45c and would rather have a Rugged one than a Silencerco if they'll be available soon. I thought they would be out before the Obsidian started making its way into the wild

Re: Form 1 correction papers
Is this for e-file or paper Form 1? Not sure what you mean by "correction papers". When I e-filed my Form 1 on December 23 it went into "Pending Research" because what I needed wasn't in their pre-populated drop down menus. On January 11 (19 days later) I received a communicatio...

Thanks for the replies. I emailed the examiner on it, Jesse Huff, and explained what happened. The new application was approved less than 24 hrs after ...

SBR Denial
I applied to SBR my first rifle last December and received a denial today. I applied to use a lower from DRD Tactical, which was in the system. Under the drop down boxes for the model and caliber were options that didn't exactly correspond to my rifle so I chose the best fit since I couldn't add or ...

I'm glad I waited on getting the tirant 45m (as hard as that is to do with these things) now that this came out. Great video as always. One thing though.. And this is probably a dumb question since I can't find the answer on Google, but to use this on a .22lr would you use the same 1/2x28 piston use...

Does anyone have any information on these. It was included as part of a gun-suppressor package Silencerco sent out in an email today. For reference the gun is a Dakota Tactical D54R-N and the package is sold through Capitol Armory.
