Re: octane 45 abnormal wear
Mine has the same wear. I think it's to be expected. A compressible O-ring is not going to be strong enough to keep the piston from contacting the wall there. I wouldn't worry about it really. Those O-rings are definitely a high wear item.

Octane UZI adaptor?
Does anyone know of someone other than SilencerHQ that makes these. SilencerHQ is out of stock and through emails with them, it appears that they aren't going to make any more. I'd rather not go direct thread or three lug. Thanks.

I went with an Extreme Tumblers Rebel 17. Thing's big enough to hold several suppressors worth of baffles.

Typically, in this context, it means to open a sealed can or convert a sealed can into a serviceable can. Usually accompanied by a recore job.5th_Amendment wrote:Ok, what is a jail break in this context? I have 3 in jail ... what is this process for?

I got mine back a month or so ago. Taken it out a few times with my 8.5" SBR 300 BLK. I've only shot 220gr subs through it, but it is quiet. It'll likely not move to any other hosts.

So... what is a swan sleeve? Man, you guys are making me feel old! I remember when the Swan Sleeve was the state of the art! Pretty much kicked off the whole "co-witness" with a red dot sight and BUIS concept. A mainstay of the A.R.M.S. line up. GG&G also copied the design. I be...

Re: Critique my list
Get an Omega or Saker instead of the Hybrid and Harvester. First, I agree with the above. I would also recommend more than one .22 can. Since you have a mono core (Sparrow) I'd go for a stackable alternative (SiCo Spectre II, DA Mask, AAC Element 2, etc..). Something with a steel stack for easy rou...

Congratulations. Hard to beat the reliability of one of these http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/mobile/product/74662/ruger_10149_2245_threaded_10+1_22lr_45 That's exactly what my Element 2 is riding on. Very reliable and practical. I have an Aimpoint Micro on it. I've gone 800+ suppressed rounds i...

Re: Q. Ryder 22a Vs. Warlock 2? For Light weight & Easy to Clean. 22lr Only
The AAC Element 2 would also fit in this category. I too would not go with an aluminum can. Especially for a rimfire. I swap between the Spectre II and Element 2 on a MKIII pistol and while I notice the weight difference, it's not IMO a "decision quality" difference in handling. I'm on the...

Re: New CCI Quiet-22 LR - 710 fps
Not sure if it was just me, but I got really poor accuracy out of CCI Quiet. Ran it through a TacSol SBX 10/22 with a Spectre II. Standard velocity MiniMags were one ragged hole, Quiets were about 4" group. Quiets didn't cycle the action obviously. Even if the metering data claimed were true, i...

Re: Help with choosing First Rifle Can
Both of those are good cans in the $600-650 price range. I would also consider the SpecWar 556 since your considering the Specwar 762. Alternatively, you may want to consider the 762-SDN-6 to partner with the M4-2000. This way the 7.62 cans can migrate around both 5.56 and 7.62 guns. Neither the Spe...

Re: Getting a new can M4-2000 or SpecWar 7.62
Of those two, the Specwar. Keep in mind, nothing you put a dedicated 5.56 can on is going to be quiet (except .22lr, which is a bad idea for other reasons). At least with a 7.62 can you can shoot 300 blk and it will be quiet. It's been said that a Saker 762 with a 556 end cap is quieter than the Sak...

Shoots as accurate as I'm capable of. Prints nice little groups. Honesty, I shoot more steel than paper with it.CanOfWhooppass wrote:

Re: 22lr Ruger barrels with aluminum threads/breach face -reliable?
I got an SBX barrel for my 10/22 take down. I love it so far. Zero issues with it. Keeps standard velocity mini mags subsonic. The steel sleeve barrel creates a concentric two component breach face. Shows typical wear and tear with regards to penning. Seems to be of the self limiting variety. Given ...

And to add insult to injury, I saw a Pilot II today that had the "TiRant inspired" end cap... Maybe I should buy it and swap end caps. I'm starting to think that they assemble these things with whatever parts they have laying around.

Re: Octane .45 vs Griffin Revolution .45
I have a Octane 45 HD and am also considering the Griffin product for my next go around. Not to bash, but the Griffin can, with the exception of the removable section, seems like an absolute knock off of the Octane. I like the flexibility that the Griffin can allows however. I see that AAC has now m...

Re: Best multi cal cans right now?
I went with the three dedicated cans approach: Spectre II, Octane 45 HD, Saker 762. Covers the gambit of hosts. I added an Element 2 because I've got a bunch of .22s and the barrier to entry is quite low. Now that the immediate need is covered, I'm thinking that I should cover redundancy with anothe...

Re: Element II or Spectre II, Which One?
Those are the two rimfire cans I went with. I decided that I couldn't live without both of them, so I bought both. Went with the Spectre II first though. If your going to only get one, I'd go with the Spectre. Suppression wise, they're about the same. The Spectre is about .5" longer and a bit h...

Re: Cycling issues with Saker 762
I'd swap that buffer out to an H3. I've got a DD 10.3 that cycles fine with the SAKER762 (W/.30 endcap), but results across the board seem to be varied. Most common cure for these types of cycling issues is a buffer adjustment.

Re: Element 2 question
The production manager at the time thought it would be a good idea to not use primer for the thread locker as it slowed down production too much (3 seconds) That is why element end caps and tirant piston housings are coming loose. Really? At what rate are these things flying off the shelves? I mean...

Hey folks, I just brought home an Element 2. Playing with it a little it, I noticed that I was ale to unscrew the back cap with very little effort (just like my Spectre II). The threads had what appeared to be anti seize on them. Reading the manual that came with it, it appears that the back cap is ...
