Re: 300blk Suppressor suggestions
I have several 300BO setups and they are very different. I have a tiny PDW build 8.3" barrel and Rugged Razor. It is a very compact SBR at just under 27" with suppressor collapsed and just under 31" extended. Suppression is OK, not much back pressure and very handy. I also have a Surg...

Re: CVA Scout V2 - recommend or avoid?
I had one of the handi rifles in 300BO and it was fun. The break actions suppress fine, I've also seen .38spl that was also stupid quiet. As far as 45/70 I think you will be disappointed. I run a 458 SOCOM on 16" barrel with Hybrid suppressor. Was at the range last week showing friend with a le...

Re: 300 magnum suppressor or .338 magnum suppressor?
Also some 30 cans are rated for 300 RUM so cartridges like it or the 300 norma mag might be a better option than 338L. I was looking at a 338L, but am going 300 Norma and will use my Rugged Surge instead of getting a 338 can.

A local B&M in Florida has had these on closeout for a long time now. Not sure if it fits your criteria close enough but a good deal. https://otbfirearms.com/surefire-socom68/ No affiliation other than I have been a customer. I've been considering one for my 6.5G 12.5" SBR, but have stuck w...

Re: Cartridge choices for AR15-based SBR
In addition to what is mentioned I'll add 12.5" 6.5 Grendel makes for great fun ringing steel at distances not expected from a SBR. I had a 10.5" 458 Socom that was a blast, but went up to a 16.5" barrel so no NFA hastles when traveling. Seriously hard hitter on tough game if shots ar...

I had a hunter I wanted threaded, and had to replace the barrel with a bull barrel and thread. A tacsol or Valquorsten upper is far less stress, and might even be cheaper.

Re: I have a 7.62SDN-6 and AAC muzzles on everything. Get a 5.56SDN or swap to Omega?
An upside of having a different mounting system for your 5.56 cans would be not risking putting them on a 7.62 host by accident. I like Silencerco and use the ASR mounts. Suppressors in 5.56, 7.62 and .46; with hosts in 5.56, 6.5, 7.62 and .458. Some of those combinations would be destructive, but t...

If your rockset fails, clean threads, put on fresh rockset and let cure. Should be fine to remove then.

Re: Stuck QD mount no wrench flats
The problem that you don't have, a lot of others also don't have. I think you are getting way ahead of yourself. If you are worried about your break getting stuck in the QD mount I would use some anti-seize compound and clean off carbon buildup after each use. If it gets stuck, a thwack from a rubbe...

Re: Switch Back .22 Silencerco
I find it interesting that it will optimize a rifle, but not pistol. In a pistol I imagine the gases are only slightly higher in pressure, but may still be burning / expanding. I think what they are probably messing with is venturi effect. If it is intended to work like a de Laval nozzle, it may hel...

Re: 3D PRINTABLE AR-15 Drop-In Auto Sear (DIAS)!!!
The concept seems poor on all levels.
At best an untested fantasy that couldn't handle the heat and pounding. At worst a felony, maybe even under constructive intent just by having an AR, printer and plans.
With semi auto able to accurately engage multiple targets per second, what could you gain?

Re: Kinda new to the whole, thing. GM-45.
First, 5/8-28 and .578-28 are not the same. Second, a 9mm AR should use a direct thread, not a piston, unless you are replacing the spring with a fixed spaced adapter. If your barrel is 1/2-36, you would want a direct thread mount or piston and spacer for 1/2-36. Adapters can cause many problems, us...

Your gains for going over 9" is just about non existant and as said, less handy.
Unless your try to extend the range to its max limit with supersonic ammo and a scope, go 9.

Re: .45acp 8in barrel sound levels?
If you end up considering an AR that you can run as a straight pull bolt action keep a couple things in mind. First, not all gas blocks shut completely off, I am using the Odin which is nice, but will not fit under slim handguards. Second is that a side charger is far more convenient, I am using the...

Re: .45acp 8in barrel sound levels?
In an AR platform the pistol calibers are simple blowback, while 300Blk is DI so the bolt locks. delayed blowback 45 and 9 are available. DI 45 is available. Piston 9mm is available (mpx). 45 and 9 will be way cheaper for OP if he doesn't reload. If OP does reload, 300 is also a great option. True,...

This sounds more neat than valuable. Antique shops sit in things like this for years, hoping the right customer will walk on. Ebay is full of loads of neat stuff, I'd research their expired auctions for similar items.

Re: Looking to buy my first suppressor but need recommendations
The Rugged Surge is barely out of your price range ($945 Silencer Shop) but it would be my pick if i had to pick just one. Heavy, but full auto rated, some of the best sound reduction available in 9" and can configure shorter if desired. Mount is simple and solid, I use one on my 6.5 Creedmore ...

Re: .45acp 8in barrel sound levels?
I just did this, here are some things to consider. I went 300 blackout which is quieter than 9mm which is quieter than 45acp. In an AR platform the pistol calibers are simple blowback, while 300Blk is DI so the bolt locks. I used an adjustable gas block so i have the option of turning it off to run ...
