This isnt going on a barret, correct?
Armalite AR-50
Ok, just making sure. A heavy can like that will F--k with a barret's short recoil action cycling.

Re: Integrally Suppressed vs Detachable Can

I dont think thats an accurate statement. If its just a pinned and welded can I guess you could remove it but it would dick the can up. Most integral silencers simply unscrew and arent permanently attached. For a suppressor to be integral part of it is part of the barrel and not removable either th...

Add an adjustable gas block. You're likely overgassed and the bolt velocity is way too high.

On a 7" barrel, no way. On a 16" barrel, maybe. On a 20" barrel, probably. Especially if you fire slowly.

The obsidian is 450 rated 16"+

Re: Brand new to silencers, some intro questions

Curtis tactical made me a custom integral silencer for my 45 CMMG. I love it.

BUY THE CMMG ACTION TUNING KIT.
It makes supressed shots quieter by reducing port noise.

Re: .25 ACP can

Recommending it to people online simply because the ATF didnt define what constitutes a caliber change is irresponsible. If you want to do it and see if the loophole holds in court, by all means, go ahead. Dont tell other people its perfectly legal. You still haven't answer my question about how yo...

Re: .25 ACP can

Is it your position that firing a projectile greater than .22 Caliber through a suppressor marked ".22" constitutes a de facto felony, even without any physical changes being made to the suppressor . No, I have no idea how the ATF feels about that. What they specifically dont allow, is modifying an...

Re: .25 ACP can

This is the exact same as putting a 50 Beowulf upper on a lower, SBR'd for 22lr. except not at all. There is no atf document saying not to change SBR calibers. There is an ATF document saying not to change the caliber or a silencer. And yet, I'm still waiting for you to produce it. Seeing the fact ...

Re: .25 ACP can

What other feature could it possibly be? The ATF clearly acknowles that a specific silencer has a specific caliber and they dont want you modifying your silencer to change the caliber. That is way more than enough information to decide that drilling out a 22 can and putting it on a 25 is against the...

Re: .25 ACP can

There's nothing that says this is a caliber change, since the silencer is still engraved and registered for 22 so I can take an SBR thats engraved and registered for 223 and put a 20mm upper on it? No officer, thats not a 20mm destructive device, its registered and engraved as 22 caliber. Simple lo...

Sounds like a promotional opportunity.

Buy a gun, get a free used silencer.

or, $1 raffle tickets. Even if you dont make money, it makes for happy customers, and good PR.

Re: .25 ACP can

There is no reason that I can think of that would prevent you from firing your .25 through a .22 can, as long as you over-bore it a few thousandths
You cant take a 22 silencer and overbore it to change its caliber without filing a second tax stamp.
