Re: K baffles and 9mm blowback

When gas is ported out of the barrel in an INTEGRAL portion of the suppressor, (they're not two expansion chambers) the gas that would normally be present to help cycle the action would be reduced. Not really any differently than if you have a garden hose ran through the yard with a bunch of holes ...

All you have yo say is you were making a muzzle brake.
Ask Sig how well that worked-out for them
Sig expressed design intent for end users to put tubes over their muzzle brakes

Re: Jacketed tube for 50 BMG?

Keep in mind the Al would just be going over a functional can, mostly for heat dissipation
that's not how heat dissipation works.

Unless this sleeve has very high surface area, like a heat sink, then it will make heat dissipation worse.

Longer barrels are quieter. Also, I highly recommend making your gun an SBR instead of don't the shroud. The cost of the shroud will have paid for your sbr stamp.

Best crossbow? Ravin, hands down.

Most reasonably priced crossbow? Something else.
Two of my family members have them. They are amazing.

Re: Barrel Shroud to Avoid SBR Designation

.The problem with what you are proposing is that it is illegal. You are planning to chop the barrel, then add the fake supressor. You may not do this without first begging massa's permission. Even though you are instantly restoring it to a legal length, you have violated federal, and most likely st...

would pulling the barrel and threading between centers be good enough?
Yes and no. If the bore is straight, it'll be fine. Lots of bores arent perfectly straight. Ive done it on a very short barrel. It works but isnt a best practice.

I carried OO Buck as LEO for 20 years, and have seen what it does to mammals, I could care less about "tests". Real life has shown me it works well. My Ithica 37 is always filled with OO, and the side saddle has 3 more of them and 2 slugs. Nobody is denying that 00 will mess up tissue. This anecdot...

The salvo 12 sounds great, even with supers.

If he's "probably not gravitating toward a shotgun", he should reconsider:

Re: Booster on a fixed barrel

People say that the can will move slightly forward during firing due to the gases hitting the blast baffle. The spring then slams the silencer back to the rear. Since the barrel is rigid and the gun has so much inertia, this can cause damage to the threads on the barrel and piston when the can slams...

Re: .45ACP Can on .450 Bushmaster?

The obsidian 45 is 450 bushmaster rated.
The hybrid 46 is as well.

Dont assume a silencer is 450 bushmaster rated because of chamber or muzzle pressure. Powder charge weight plays an important role. 450 bushmaster has 5 times the powder as a 45 ACP

Re: 9x39 project

IMO, the entire point of 9x39 is if you want a quiet AK-ish gun. For an AR or a bolt gun, why not just use 300blk, 338 whisper, 350 legend, 458 socom, 510 whisper? An integral VSS or AK in 9x39 would be cool because they're iconic. A bolt gun in 9x39, not so much. K baffles kick ass for 9mm and 300b...

I have a reflex 450 bushmaster can with K baffles and I like it a lot. I've never shot the bowers 458, obsidian45, or hybrid46, so I don't know how they compare on 450BM.
