It's late and I'm tired but how do you put a folded up dollar bill between the barrel and stock??

What is the better/best can mounting systems these days?

What do you think are the better mounting systems available today? To me the best mount would be:

- QD to an installed flash hider (proprietary flash hider ok but not a muzzle brake)
- repeatable timing
- secure (no possibility of coming loose)
- no possiblity of wearing out

I *want* a 30 cal can but I really don't need it. I can wait for the HPA to sort itself out.

Silencer covers rant

My Cole-Tac cover starts sliding off the front of my 5.56 silencer after only a few dozen rounds no matter how tightly I cinch it up. And this is with 5.56! I have a rather short can with only two straps so that doesn't help. My next cover will have an anti-walking feature. Who makes a cover that ha...

The Griffin Spartan 3 is only 6.25" and 12.5 ounces and will knock a good 30+ dB off. And it's very affordable.

Re: Form 1 wait time today - hpa and saturated market

If you were to file now, yes you should certainly do a lot better than the current 9 to 10 months. Really hard to guess what it would be though, we will have to wait and see. I certainly am not buying anything until the HPA is resolved one way or the other. Given the disarray of the Republican Congr...

ericlw wrote:Your complaining about 8 weeks? I have waited 10 months for mine.
I think you're confusing form 3 and form 4. There's no way a form 3 would take 10 months.

My form 3 took 6 weeks a year ago. That was pretty bad back then.

That doesn't mean a thing. If you expect actual progress towards freedom and prosperity you will be sadly disappointed.
Still beats the alternative of what would happen had things turned out differently.

Re: Price of suppressors IF Hearing Protection Act is passed

You bring up a good point about large gun makers jumping into the game. Sig already is in the can biz but I can see S&W and a few others jumping in. The small popular can makers would become prime takeover targets for their product line and patents and tech.

Re: Life Expectancy

Barrel length and how hot you get it will affect service life. A 10" barrel that is mag dumped frequently vs a 16" slow fire will probably have noticeably different service lives.

nfatracker.com - form 4 e-files

E-file for form 4s has been down for years so why does nfatracker show form 4 e-files? Are people just mis-entering their data?

That matches up almost exactly with what Silencer Shop is showing right now. Mine was submitted 2/27 so I'm hoping it comes in next week, it's been a long wait.

Re: ATF processing time

February form 4 applications are just now being approved so that's seven months. It will probably not improve better than that until next year at least. Considering June was the deadline for the new rules with the associated rush I expect the wait time to go to nine months or more. Just look at the ...

They are claiming 33 dB reduction. Besides, most cans are 1.5" right? 21 ounces though, not light at all.

Re: db At the Shooters Ear Question

For Home Defense, I'd choose .45ACP if you're wanting a lower cost ammo. It's Frontal Area and Turbulent Upset are better than 9mm for CQB. Lots of great fragmenting ammo for Home Use. 3-6 Petals and the flat Base. Your ballistic opinions are wildly off base. I don't even know what Turbulent Upset ...

Re: db At the Shooters Ear Question

PS. I'd also switch to 300BLK for Home Defense. The larger frontal area will help stop the Threat, instead of just perforating organs that will eventually bleed out and kill him AFTER he's harmed your Family. :( If possible, use fragmenting rds. Those that split into 4 segments are really g...

FNG here ... lots of talk about 41F rules, but I've seen nothing in writing. I have trustees 1,000 miles apart so not sure what to do. Someone here in another forum mentioned starting a 2nd trust with just himself on it. I'll probably do the same to keep it super simple until things settle down. Dr...

I wouldn't worry about 142 dB for home defense. For everything else I would still be wearing ear pro. anyway.
