Re: Optimal barrel length for 9mm suppressed
I can confirm that the difference between 4.5" and 8" is just under 100fps. I run a 148gr flat nose powder coated lead cast projectile( 0.660" long) over 3.3gr of Alliant Bullseye at approx 900fps out of my 226. The same load in my 8" MPX is just under 1000fps. Both barrels stabi...

Re: My form was approved but new discovery of an error in 2a....WTF!!!!!
I had a semi similar thing happen on a pre41F item. The dealer wrote a 3 instead of a 4 in the serial number. The original form 4 was approved in mid October 16. We figured it out prior to transferring the item, and the ATF had us resubmit a new FORM 4 with the correct serial number. In less than 2 ...

Rugged Obsidian 3 Lug
Has anyone tried a Rugged Obsidian with the 3 Lug Mount? If so, does it change the sound or amount of blowback negatively as compared to a direct thread? I've had an Obsidian pending since 12/2016 and am thinking a 3 Lug would be nice for swapping between my Sig MPX and my 8.3" 300 BLK. I like ...

975 cast bullets for 510 whisper
Does anyone have experience with 975 grain cast bullets for the 50bmg or 510 whisper? CBE out of Australia makes the mold. I think this is simular to the ones "Ranger Rick" used to cast based on real old threads. I recently came onto a few hundred pounds of wheel weights and am interested ...

Re: 510 Whisper
I got around to cutting brass using the harbor freight chop saw. It worked pretty well, but i did have to grind down the plastic housing slightly on the saw near the blade. Without this, the saw was only able to cut about 90% through the case. Saw before grind down housing http://i802.photobucket.co...

Re: 510 Whisper
Your brass looks great! What are you doing the initial rough cut with? Thanks! I was pretty happy with how the necks turned down. I've been recently using just a copper tubing cutter, but will be using my harbor freight chop saw once I can check my test piece of brass in my chamber to speed up prod...

Re: 510 Whisper
Finally got around to use the K&M Micro Neck Turning tool for 50BMG. After speaking more with Roger at K&M, the maximum cutter angle he could grind me is 77°. I got the K&M Expander as well to ensure the necks were expanded enough so the brass doesn't gall on the pilot. It took me a litt...

Re: 510 Whisper
I am also making the trek over to the big whisper. Where are you getting your brass made? I have used my harbor freight chop saw to cut the cases right behind the neck, but I have also used a copper tubing cutter with success as well. I then debur the case mouth, expand it to .508 to straighten the...
