Re: Current top of the Heap Rimfire Suppressors 2017
In my testing the rugged Oculus Edges out the erector and blows away the DA mask for suppression. Oculus is shorter than the erector with 10 baffles but is also twice as heavy as the erector. I did some quick testing of the 3 today exact same conditions host and ammo, the 10 shot average results wer...

Re: "Low Tone"
All this tone s--t (and I know many sound different) is because people are starting to test with meters and some cans don't stack up. Only way to keep people thinking is to cut down the equipment or come up with some other way (tone) to say they are closer or better.

Re: Rugged Oculus vs Dead Air Mask (Metered)
If your looking for a great read about meters and specifically the meter I used read this link. This was done by Dr. Phil Dater whom I consider to be one of the foremost experts on suppressors and sound testing. This is a great arrival. http://www.larsondavis.com/ContentStore/mktg/LD_Docs/Firearm_So...

Re: Crux Saxon 5.56
I used the Larson Davis lxt1-qpr I will have to go back in my notes but I believe without it was around 163-165. I have an axe 9 also but have not tested it yet but will soon.

Rugged Oculus vs Dead Air Mask (Metered)
Got a rugged oculus in and wanted to compare with the dead air mask. Did some meter testing of the two, cold day here 30* no wind. Used Larson Davis lxt1-qpr and tested 1 meter left of bore. Host was Ruger 22/45 lite, ammo was American eagle 45 grain subsonic. Base line without silencer 2 shots 157....

Re: Crux Saxon 5.56
Fyi, look@ barrel length per calibers & you might change your thinking. At least until tested I have a Nemesis 30 & Saxon9 on order. Will wait to give feedback until I get them instead of arguing blindly. I'm not sure what your referring to as far as barrel length? The Saxon 5.56 is rated d...

Re: USFA ZIP
Not a silencer question but general NFA that I'm sure someone here knows. If I mount one of those USFA ZIP 22's on a rail on an SBR AR, is that good? Or would I need to have a 16" upper on the SBR lower? Or something else like the ZIP would have to be papered as an SBR to mount it (effectively...

Re: What are the absolute quietest 5.56 and 30 cal cans?
Doing side by side comparisons on the same day with a meter is going to give you the best data you can get about the cans used. There are tone differences in cans but the db #'s at the ear are what I believe make the biggest difference. I don't have enough experience with many different cans to give...

They won't clear, the hybrid is a little to big. Sounds good on it.

What host do you have? I just got my ghost but am waiting on a couple pistons and need a 3 lug mount, once I get them I can do some testing and give you numbers against the obsidian.

No form 3 takes that long. You need to demand the serial number and call the ATF line and check status, that will tell you if anything has even been submitted. I am a dealer and what is happening to you is wrong, only issues I have had as a dealer is with silencer shop.

Re: MPX silencer options?
Well, I'm leaning get towards a silencer co hybrid. May not be able to have a QD but should have options for multiple Guns this way. Anyone run a hybrid or know someone with one? Opinions.. I have a hybrid and 3 lug mount for my mpx, I thought it sounded and looked great. I did some metering with i...

At just under 1.5" diameter not sure what just under means but I bet this thing will meter over 140 and probably close to 145.

Being only 1.375" what kind of suppression are you seeing ? Not a lot of volume.

Crux Saxon 5.56
I will do a more in depth review in the next couple days, but with the advertised specs I wanted to shoot this thing even if it was only a few rounds. I took it out back quick shot a couple rounds seemed pretty loud so I ran back in and got the meter, set it up and took 5 more shots before I had to ...

Re: db At the Shooters Ear Question
Ok I got out today to test 3 different cans: silencerco hybrid, silencerco omega and the Oss elite. All were shot using m193 ball through a bcm 11.5" upper with Jp silent capture spring. I'll just give averages at this point, when I get more organized and can detail everything out I will, I too...

Re: db At the Shooters Ear Question
I just got my db meter for testing this exact thing, I will get some numbers with a couple different rifles and cans that I have now and do more when I receive others I have ordered. I think the same way I want the one that is quietest at my ear not the muzzle but I am new to suppressors and want to...
