Re: The Best Cone design

John. I completely agree it's time to drop this. I can agree how it would seem I was pushing the rsc a little hard without data to back it up. I have been a machinst for 30 years and an 07/02 for 13 years and have built too many cans to count using the typical components and filled up buckets of tri...

Re: The Best Cone design

perhaps you should go back read the post again and there has not been anything missing represented except for you taking it out of context or not reading the complete sentence . The complete sentence. Okay: I never said you threatened me in ant way. So leaving the obvious spelling error aside, what...

Re: The Best Cone design

I never said you threatened me... And a bit earlier: I don't know why you feel threatened... Gosh, this is really degenerating. Perhaps you ought to consider paying attention not only to what others say, but to your own words. You suggested that others here feel threatened. John responded to that s...

No, I'm not threatened by you. Nor have I made personal attacks or threats against you. Where do you feel that I was attacking you? We can go PM if you prefer ?????? Re: The Best Cone design

John, You make many good points in your last reply. While I dont agree with some I respect your opinion to choose as you see fit. One comment I have is I would expect any can with a tube 1.625 od x approx 14" long to perform well on subs as the leonidas. Your made many of the same points in you...

Re: The Best Cone design

John, really gold standard. No disrespect but I think many would disagree for the following reasons. 1. No versatility, can't use on different calibers hosts. 2. Cost, at almost $2000 2 or 3 cans could purchased. 3. Ammo used is freedom munitions 220gr hush which costs $1.18 per round vs many other ...

Re: The Best Cone design

You realise if course that without a direct comparison in the same, unedited video, with at least one other known quantity can (some established modern commercial suppressor a lot of folks would know), such audio is virtually pointless. Especially with a choppy wind buffeting the microphone. Rememb...

Re: Most Quiet Baffle Design

I sincerely apologize if I misinterpreted the post. However to do any development work on the m244 mortar doesn't fall In with the scope of a ffl 07/02 thus not legal for a 07/02. Its possible propeine's comments were not intended to be facetious. Maybe he can clarify his comment so I don't make the...

Re: Most Quiet Baffle Design

So I was gathering from my search just after I posted that for more baffles from that username. Okay, nice to know my thinking is along the right track. The RSC looks very sensible for a high pressure round. Applying it to subs I'd probably widen the nose at least on the clip side to make for bette...

Lots of mention of it, but not much other than that.
There are pictures and links in the general section tutorial sticky at the top.

The Best Cone design

The RSC cone is available to everyone now through DM. The RSC was designed by Rusty and has been proven time and time again to outperform most if not all commercial designs. All anyone has to is follow the tutorial Rusty posted after your form 1 is approved. All the information is over at form1suppr...

Re: Most Quiet Baffle Design

Do I sense a little envy there? Any way Rusty clearly stated he put the DHC in the public domain for anyone to use if they wanted to. He stated he was filing the patent on the RSC cone just to keep the facts straight. I know I have benefited from many of his posts and you don't find many 07/02 shari...

More than step will.defeat the purpose of clips. If you don't clip then it doesn't matter.

Re: Most Quiet Baffle Design

Just another thought, who would like to take their k can on put it on a 556 and next a 308 for a comparison test to my rsc can by Rusty then test your k csn on a 9mm handgun for a comparison. I just read over on the form 1 board Rusty has released the RSC for purchase by anyone. He has a new cone th...

Re: Most Quiet Baffle Design

Yep, that is correct. I have compared a RSC can by Rusty to all the cans referred to above and it performs better in suppression and no poi shift. But hey, everybody has different goals and if you are happy with your Ks then that's fine but I still rate Ks as one step above fp.

Re: Most Quiet Baffle Design

I agree a lot of commercial cans do use Ks. But that's only because most folks dont know there are better options and the commercial guys know they don't have to invest in improving. If someone doesn't mind the POI shift vs better suppression and less to no poi shift then I guess you can say Ks aren...

Re: Most Quiet Baffle Design

Imho k baffles are old antiquated technology, there is a large poi shift with k cups no getting around it. Radials with the DHC will perform better in all areas and the RSC with DHC will outperform Radials.

Re: Please critique my silencer design for 300 winmag

Unless you bored your fp on a lathe it is unlikely every one is drilled on center. I would suggest .080 over for the bore. The other factor if in fact the fp were stretched into 60° cones the wall thickness will be very thin and the life of these will be short. Your can is fairly heavy so hopefully ...

Unknown pro does great work. He also does sandblasting and duracoat.

Something else to consider is oxidizing the tube yourself. It's easy and you will get a dark grey tube.

Re: Drilling Misshap

The condition of the cones will be difficult to drill on center with a drill press.. The best way to salvage these cones is contact Rusty over at form 1 suppressors and have him fix your cones. He has done machining others said could not be done. In addition he has built more silencers of all types ...

Re: Another K-baffle design

K cups when clipped are asymmetrical and will create a poi shift. Why not go with a symmetrical design and symmetrical clip that is more effective than k cups.
