Re: .338 Spectre

The only issue I could see on the Mini 14 would be the bolt face. I assume yours is a 5.56 Mini, the .338 Spectre needs a 6.8SPC breechface. I don't know much about the Mini 14 so I don't know if the 6.8SPC Mini 14 bolt can just be swapped to your 5.56 Mini. Other than that the issue is just getting...

Garin, I have not installed any of them yet so unfortunately no feedback yet. I have a 7.62 one that is needing a barrel to call home and two 5.56 ones. I have barrels ready to build uppers but haven't had the time to build them yet. The good news is fairer weather is approaching here on the mid-atl...

So many people say the FN 5.7x28 round is "just a .22 magnum" that I would think a lot of people would get it on this gun so they could have a cheap "Five-Seven." I think this pistol looks neat for the money but doubt I'll buy one. I'm trying to get a good friend of mine to buy o...

I will add also that I reccomend starting with a single stage and moving to a progressive if you feel the need/desire. First off, you can get started much cheaper with a single stage and that way if you don't like it you have less of an investment. If you do like it (what normal person wouldn't, LOL...

LOL. It sounded a bit foolish to me at the time so it's good to know JHPs are ok. Now a bit of paperwork & some money and I can test them myself in my own Trident. I have many guns to use as a host but it sounds like the Beretta 92 will make a nice quiet one :)

I never made it all the way to 1200fps. At least not when I had a chrono to verify it. I was loading these before I had any 3N38 but that powder seems to really shine with the 9mm bore and high velocity. I'll have to try and find my load data on the 147g bullets, I think I only ever made it to aroun...

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. After spending all these years loading 147's trying to get to 1200fps I'll have to make some subsonics, LOL.

I have considered Surefire suppressors. At this point I do not own any suppressors but I am working to change that. I just moved to PA so now that I have done that I am working to raise funds for suppressors. I can say that I am leaning strongly towards these cans. AAC for a 5.56 can AAC TiRant 45 S...

I'll defer the above answers on why they are "special." I will say that my 2-7 rimfire is sweet on my 10/22 .17HM2. I've only put about 150 rounds through it so far but it is a sweet combo. I've always found Leupold to be great so I figured $200 for a scope on a $700 rimfire wasn't bad, bu...

I have one. I like it but it is quite big. Compared to a G21 I don't know for sure as I haven't held a G21 for awhile. Although come to think of it, I have a G20 which should be the same as a G21 grip wise. I will try to remember to check tonight. I have only had the chance to fire it once since I g...

Wow everybody. Thanks for chiming in and answering all of my questions. This gives me some good brain food to digest and see where I want to go. As to why I chose the Pilot, just from reviews, although I thought it was disassembleable (I made that up :) ). Judging from the inquiry I guess it's not. ...

Cool. Thanks for the advice so far. I have a Ruger 22/45 that is fairly accurate, I imagine I could just get a threaded barrel for that too. Do you mean that SSK or Tromix can make me a suppressor or can make me a spacer for the new AAC 45 can? So would using the .338 suppressor for the .308 win be ...

Some General Suppressor ?s

Hello all, I am relatively new here and still geting my feet wet with NFA weapons and suppressors, etc. Obviously I want to get the most bang for my buck but I also want to have the best experience with my toys and make them last. So here are a few ideas I am kicking around in my head and figure I'l...

I agree with the above posters, she is too cute to take badly lit pictures. Obviously studio quality lighting would be expensive so daylight is the best. My wife is a photographer and she loves to use our sunroom with the light outside is right. So she can be indoors but get the benefit of free &quo...

I would load 200g jacketed bullets at 1000fps which IMO is still better than .40S&W ballistics, although Longshot & some of the VV powders will get the short & wimpy close to the 200g @ 1000fps arena. One of the plated bullet makers does (or did) a 220g TC 10mm bullet, so you could use t...
