Re: More baffles and volume vs better baffle shape

Why are you building instead of buying? If youre doing it just to save money, you're wasting your time mixing 338 and freeze plugs. Freeze plugs will handle 308 but they just aren't ideal for anything, especially without a proper blast baffle, and especially if you plan on rapid firing. I'm guessin...

Re: Can Someone Help Me? Mutli Cal vs Dedicated vs 45?

Just some options to consider Griffin Armament Revolution 9 for 9mm, 308. 300 bo, 556. GA Revolution 45 just for 45, the GA recce 7 is a great suppressor also for 30 cal. The GA reece 5 is also great for 556 and 22wmr and 22lr.

Re: Used suppressor market?

Imho and expierence about 25% to 35% of the orginal cost, not including the stamp. is the best you can do in the used silencer market. It ls like building a $3000 ar using top quality parts then trying to trade or sell it. It is considered a parts gun with no warranty. You would be lucky to sell it ...

Re: Zmachineworx cones -radial cones vs Norma ones

Are you releasing drawings of the rsc to the form 1 community here or elsewhere? Is it patented? Also the ideal spacing and bore diameter on radials likely isn't the ideal spacing and bore diameter for cones, so the radials might perform closer to the cones than you think. A lot of testing would ha...

Re: Zmachineworx cones -radial cones vs Norma ones

Ok. I didn't know if you had any testing, in the past. Identical cans (Length, spacing, etc), comparing these 2 baffles, would be great test data. I have done testing. I built 3 cans 1.5" × 7.5" tubes. One with 7 cones, one with 7 radials one with 7 RSC. All with DHC, bored .390 with iden...

Re: AAC 7.62 cyclone repair

I started on this can this morning. It is a mess. I removed the endcap and found the 2nd to last baffle evaporated. You can see what remains in this video. https://youtu.be/XHDQ9cRJTvQ The last baffle had impact damage not from a bullet but I believe from the 2nd baffle when it disintergrated. You c...

Re: Zmachineworx cones -radial cones vs Norma ones

How can you say radials don't perform well with hi-pressure rounds? The Silencerco Saker, Specwar, and Omega all use this design and come highly rated. I haven't come across pictures of the Harvester's baffles, but I'd be willing to bet they too are radials. I simply stated my opinion that 60° cone...

Re: Zmachineworx cones -radial cones vs Norma ones

Low psi flows different than high psi high volume. The shape of the radial with tower at the tip allows this to strip the low psi low volume gas. On pistol caiber loads the radials perform better. On higher psi rifle caliber loads the 60° cones perform better. Is there much of a difference? For exa...

Re: Zmachineworx cones -radial cones vs Norma ones

Which type should I get? It seems like the standard one is better since it seems like it would have greater surface area. It really depends on what the primary use will be. Radials work better than cones on lower psi hosts like 300BO and handguns vs 60° cones. 60° cones are better on centerfire rif...

Re: AAC 7.62 cyclone repair

Unfortunately replacing the outer tube is not an option for this customer as it would require a new tax stamp and the wait associated with it. I will be replacing the inner tube and both endcaps with titantium and using 2 ss 17-4 blast baffles along with 5 grade 5 titanium baffles

Re: AAC 7.62 cyclone repair

Appears to be from a baffle strike. I don't believe those baffles were like that, for the life of ghe can, then one day they weren't. Not passing judgement, baffle strikes happen, but this is my opinion. The key to what happened is in the first baffle. If you look closely at the od it is not round ...

Re: AAC 7.62 cyclone repair

What I found when I opened up this can was worn out internals and no baffle strikes on the first 3 baffles. The 316 sleeve showed signs of wear. The 1st baffle was not round and the od severly worn. The 2nd baffle had also separated and twisted lodging in skirt. The 3rd baffle was worn to the point ...

I agree with John A that a brake will give better performance with a can vs a flash hider.
