Re: Remington files for bankruptcy Sunday evening
Remington is now out of Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Looks like the banks did fast work trimming and restructuring. We'll see what this means for the future of the company and its products.

Re: Solution to bumpfire stock and binary trigger problem
Allowing registry of the ones already in the wild as stand-alone machine guns (like DIAS) is the only action that makes sense other than inaction. Honesly, you don't need these to bumpfire, so the idea of banning them or registering them strikes me as insane. Many people report these make bumpfire f...

Re: Approved form 1, Assembling SBR without tax stamp in hand?
If you waited this long, wait until you have the hand-numbered stamp in your posession, just to be safe.
Nobody wants to be saying, "but officer, the stamp's in the mail!". Some local LEO isn't going to call the ATF to verify your approval, or even know whom to call if the tried.

+1 for 4.5". That is what I have my pistol and SBR AR cut to and both keep standard ammo subsonic. At least, the ammo I have tested so far. Accuracy is surprisingly good, too, at reasonable ranges.

Let us not forget most gun law is really commerce law. The NFA doesn't ban machineguns, silencers, sbrs, sbss, aows, etc. It heavily regulates how those items may be bought, sold, and what constitutes a transfer of ownership. Commerce is the biggest loophole into 2A issues outside of Legislation. Ne...

Re: is it possible to get a home based 07/02? if so do you have to pay ITAR even if you dont ever manufacture anything?
One way to look at it is this: If this scenario weren't too good to be true, do you think you would have been the only person to think of it? No person in their right mind would do anything but this if the Government sanctioned it. As we aren't all 07/02's, nor are all of your neighbors, I think occ...

Thanks for all the information, cirations included especially. You got me looking in the right direction. Re: Scorpion Evo NFA/922r questions
Thank you, that makes much more sense. I was distrusting of other internet forums claiming shouldering was now fine. That means I'll have to wait for a stamp if I buy one, and by then I'll have saved enough to do the 922(r) parts swap anyway. Honestly, I just wish I could get my AR-15 SBR into such ...

Scorpion Evo NFA/922r questions
I did a search and didn't find very current threads on these two questions. I'm considering the CZ Scorpion Evo pistol. I would like to add a folding arm brace of some flavor, but am unclear on the legality of the following two points: 1) Did the ATF TRULY give consent to shouldering arm braces, as ...

Re: Speaker Ryan's Opponent Paul Nehlen Shows Suppressor Truth In Ad
It would be bad PR for a candidate to appear to muzzle the electorate by having the camera downrange. I'm not sure this helped much, though. Now the attack on semi-autos may renew. Hell, the NRA and NSSF may ask the ATF to consider reviewing semi-autos and moving them under the NFA umbrella. What ti...

Re: Stuck piston on an old SWR HEMS II
What about Slip 2000 carbon killer? Would that be safe to use if I plugged the muzzle, filled to soak, and drained/rinsed the can in 15 minute to half-hour long cycles?

Re: 12 Bump stocks used by Vegas shooter
So what would be more effective in the Mandalay Bay shooting scenario? Aimed fire in semi-auto or spray and pray using bump fire? While he was aiming at a large group of people over 1000 feet away, it's possible that many of his shots went wide of the target. Did use of his slide fire stocks actual...

Re: article: Gun Control Sucks
This is a poetically worded article, with greater power than any political speach I have heard in the past few years. However, I feel the strength of his position is weakened by the fact that the NRA itself is now anti-bumpfire stock. The laegest pro-2A lobby has moved... in favor of gun-control eff...

The files could also be sent to a company like ShapeWays and made in metal via lossless PLA, just like jewelry stores do. As long as it is just a tool and not a restricted part all should be on the up and up.

Keep what you have, use it on platforms where it performs well. Save up and invest in something with newer tech behind it.

Re: Stuck piston on an old SWR HEMS II
I did try using a metal dental pick, working inside the piston outward. It is a tight space so it s had to see where the real problem is. I suspect the piston face is fused to the assembly. If the tabs of the piston are covered and blocked from moving in their channels that is not visibly obvious.

Re: Stuck piston on an old SWR HEMS II
I admit I'm a little surprised this hasn't happened to anyone else before. Other than "The Dip" and Kroil, does anyone have any ideas? Would break cleaner damage the suppressor internals or finish? Any other carbon disolving solution that might be safe?

Re: Stuck piston on an old SWR HEMS II
I'm not trying to unscrew the piston assembly, end-users aren't supposed to do that on this model. I'm trying to separate the piston itself, which seems fused to the internal face of the piston assembly. It is a problem of linear force, not torque, and I'm not going to mount this to a muzzle and tak...

Re: Stuck piston on an old SWR HEMS II
I have tried plugging the muzzle with a cork and filling the whole unit with kroil, letting it soak overnight. No luck. I may just have a dedicated fixed-barrel platform silencer now, which it can still serve as admirably. I'll try to save up for something. Either an Octane 9 HD or a Hybrid. I haven...

Stuck piston on an old SWR HEMS II
Let me start my first post by admitting this is probably my fault for not cleaning properly. I have been using this can both on pistols and on a 9mm AR-15 SBR. When doing the latter, I replace the recoil spring with a fixed barrel spacer Henry provided me years ago. I ended up really liking that sup...
