If you search my posts, I started a thread on an original silenced sterling (very similar to sten) It’s very picture heavy. You may find it of use.

As people have said, if there was no crack, I'd clean it up and use it. With the crack starting, I'd get it repaired and then refinished if need be.

Re: Direct metal laser sintering
I used to run an EOS M250 metal sintering machine. It is a very expensive machine to run but as a one off complicated monocore silencer, it may be useful. There was always a sight bit of distortion on the parts and there can be some internal stresses so drilling the bore hole and cutting the threads...

If your design isn't a take down one, drill holes in your outer tube to line up with the baffles. Then plug weld through these holes so each baffle is welded in place.

Re: Who has suppressed an ak?
I once had an AK. I'm in the UK so it was straight pull only. I've not got any pictures of the silencer with me but there was a post relating to it on here (my first build). Bear in mind that there was no blowback as there was no gas system. The sound suppression was very quiet. The alignment was aw...

Re: 5.56mm reflex can design. Thoughts?
I built something similar. There's a thread on it here My design screws onto a standard AR15 thread. Simply remove muzzle brake and put on silencer as and when you fancy. Leave the special barrel nut in place all the time. I've got cad data for all my pieces if you want them. Email me rather than pm...

Additionally, the final design didn't have and baffle or support(purple disk in top pictures) and the barrel wasn't vented anywhere.

Re: Straight pull integrally silenced ar15
I'm updating this thread mainly as I'm about to direct someone to from a current thread. This reflex design doesn't have an internal tube but uses the outside of the barrel for that purpose. Because the hand guard is a PITA to remove it rarely gets removed. This means that the outside of the barrel ...

12" 1:6 barrel. L42A2 brass. I use this in an M4 with NO gas system. 62gn FMJ, OAL 57.4, 5.2gn Trailboss. Very quiet. (5.4gn is supersonic) I didn't fully investigate 55gn heads but; 55gn FMJ, OAL 57.4, 5gn trailboss is supersonic 55gn FMJ, OAL 57.4, 4.4gn trailboss is subsonic I've not got a c...

Re: Offset silencer design.
Don`t need a four jaw, 3jaw and shims under one jaw. A little trickier but works. Or an alternative to this is to open the chuck jaws until one jaw can be removed. Tighten up the chuck so that the chuck thread turns once, twice or whatever and then insert the 3rd jaw into the chuck. Keep on turning...

Did you just knock that up in the 10 minutes since I posted??
How do you find it seals? Is it just a tight fit? Do you have photos of the rear of the barrel nut?
Good job.

Hi guys, Years on and I've taken down the website that was hosting my photos, so I'm going through and fixing all the links in my past posts. I finished my integrally silenced AR. I am very happy with the finish. I welded the three baffles in place in the end. The front cap still screws on and off b...

Beretta Steel is spot on, For an FAC (FireArms Certificate) we have to proove a need, ie. club membership or land to shoot on. The barrel has to be 12" and the overall length has to be 24". We have long barreled revolvers with a wrist brace to get past the law. Also the only semi's we are ...

Re: Integrally Suppressed AR???
Here's some pictures of my integral M4. Its a straight pull but you could easily put a gas system into it. Off the top of my head, I would assemble the new barrel nut onto the rifle and work out where the gas tube would need to go. I would then either drill an accurate hole, or even better, fugure o...

Or, you can get a tool especially designed for making O ring grooves. That's what I used.
