Re: Call for common sense gun laws

There should be no compromise at all, I am not in favor of saying we will do this if you do that, it is not a winning strategy. We as well as them are getting to a breaking point, you either go for broke or you go home.

Re: What are online forum Robots??

Must have happened to me. I did a post once about a hypothetical nefarious act in a "what if" context and it disappeared. I own 4 different online forum systems devoted to other subjects besides gun and the bots are simply search engine crawlers who index your website and some of the post...

Re: Gunsmithing without an FFL

That ruling was actually a response to all of the 80% lower parties that had been happening for a long time, you will notice in that determination letter the majority is address to Frames and Receivers. In the case of the AR platform, the lower receiver is the regulated item, nothing else, If I were...

Re: 7.62 vs 30-06. For a bolt gun would you get a .308 or 30-06

My Remington 600 308 is the cats meow and my wife uses it a lot, I came up with a load that is very light recoil and deadly for her and she loves it. 125 Nosler Ballistic tip and she takes deer with it every year if she is not carrying her 300 black AR, it is a very effective load in a lighter weigh...

Re: 7.62 vs 30-06. For a bolt gun would you get a .308 or 30-06

.30-06 has more energy and a flatter trajectory. It's also got more recoil, requires a longer action, costs more to shoot, and is louder. Neither round is better than the other. That being said, I shoot a .27-06, aka 270 win. The .270 is my favorite hunting rifle, I own two of them, and Interarms t...

Re: 7.62 vs 30-06. For a bolt gun would you get a .308 or 30-06

My little ole' .308 Remington model 600 made in 1964 has served me quite well in the 40 years I have had it, I have taken, deer, elk, moose, bear, mt goats and lions as well as pronghorn with it and never once had a problem bring down what I wanted to with it. the .308 vs. 06 argument has been going...

Re: Stupid question time

Why has nobody mounted a 14th Amendment fight against California, MA, CT, etc batshit insane gun laws? Because the liberals or liberal leaning people have been in control for a long time now. It has been brought up quite a few times over the last 25+ years but there have been no serious attempts to...

Re: Ammo manufacturers for Fed cannot sell live ammo to public once contract expires

That law has been in effect for almost 50 years now, I believe it was addressed in the 1968 Gun control act and then stiffened in the Regan legislation in the 80's. That said there is still a lot of military ammo floating around, I purchased a box full of gun stuff this summer and there was 500 rou...

Re: Gunsmithing without an FFL

If it is an AR rifle, just take the upper from him, the upper is a non regulated item as far as the BATF is concerned, the lower is what is regulated and it is what gets stamped when you put a short barrel upper on it. What he does with it after you return it to him is his business and not yours. Th...

Re: Are 1/2x28 threads dangerous on 30-06?

With the thinner barrels, like you have, I have seen a couple of baffle strikes destroy the end of the barrel, so you have to make sure everything in lined up almost perfectly, I also suggest, shooting the particular ammo you intend to use with the suppressor without the suppressor to see how they ...

Re: Solution to bumpfire stock and binary trigger problem

Well they are going to have a hard time actually classifying a bum stock as a machine gun, machine gun releases more than one round per trigger pull, bump stock does not meet their definition of a machine gun, because no matter how many rounds per minute you are putting out, you are still pulling th...

Well I have to say, John, you did make me wander so I pulled the pistol out and measured!

LOP on it is 12.5 inches and overall on it is 25.5, I had never measured it after I finally installed the brace and your thoughts today had me second guessing.

Re: My Latest Build, a new direction from my others.

I had FFL's for about a decade too. Not that it matters though. A pistol doesn't have to be under 26". There is no maximum or minimum length it's allowed to be. But from the photo, the LOP was longer than ATF likes and according to them, up into shoulder stock territory. That's why I mentioned...

Re: My Latest Build, a new direction from my others.

You may want to check the LOP on the pistol. ATF frowns at anything 13.5" or longer, per their correspondence concerning pistol braces. They consider 13.5" getting up into "shoulder stock territory". reference: http://shockwavetechnologies.com/site/?p=3524 Sorry that you broke a...

Here is a few more that I built this summer, Top is an A4, Middle is a Model 727 retro/clone and the bottom is a 7.5 pistol with, the pistol is accurate out to about 100 yards and if you are not wearing ear pro, it will ring your bell! I have properly installed the brace since this picture was taken...

My Latest Build, a new direction from my others.

This is the last AR I just built on Christmas eve, it will probably end up being used most of the time by my wife, but thought is looked pretty good. I have replaced the scope rings so they just mount to the receiver and not on the rail. It is an Anderson lower, with a Right to bear Arms upper Stand...

My Question is: Why are they contacting Spouses instead of the Named Party? Seems like they should contact the actual Person, not ask someone else if you are alive. Maybe ask for a current Proof of Life, like DL or Passport? Of course those are 6-10yrs, so renewed less often than a FFL. Hmmmm. Seem...

A private prosecution is a criminal proceeding initiated by an individual or private organisation (such as a prosecution association) instead of by a public prosecutor who represents the state. Private prosecutions are allowed in many jurisdictions under common law, but have become less frequent in...
