Re: Form 1 30cal planning stages

SPC doesn't make a 60° Pro cone. It is either 60° or a Pro. Skip the DHC on the 60° and it isn't even possible on the Pro. Not enough meat on the tip of the cone. Much better cones that would work for both cartridges, but you'd have to put up with some first round pop with the BLK if you built an al...

Re: First range report on my Form1 build.

Are they HIT's flat washer looking things or their actual cone shaped "spacers"? If cone shaped, do something with them. Washers...well, sorry.

Head over to the form1suppressor.boards.net and sign up.

Do some searching and reading. When you think you have it figured out, or need to ask a question, keep reading.

I make drilling jigs for all sorts of cones. Easiest to get ahold of me on the form1suppressor.boards.net. Sign up, shoot me a message and let me whose cones/size/shape and maybe even include a picture, especially the K-Cups. Use imgbb.com for the photo hosting. About the only site that likes me.

Re: 9mm design feedback requested

I like what you are doing!! I was trying to buy a couple K-Cup "filters" off of eBay to make drilling jigs for, but they were snagged by Customs. Couple suggestions. Make the jigs slightly undersized. Warm up one of the cones to where it is just warm enough to deform the plastic, but not t...

imgbb.com is free and doesn't require an account. Once you upload the pic, use the pull down menu and select BBCode Full Linked. C&P that address in your reply and the pic will show up.

Re: Sub $1k lathe including shipping 8x16 with 5” chuck 1.5” pass thru

Yeah, I'd still take the motor. Shoot me a PM an I'll pay shipping if you're willing to get rid of it. My mill gets used close to every other day. Granted, 95% of it is just drilling small holes and running a spiral tap, but I have been very pleased with it for everything else I have needed it to do.

All aluminum build wouldn't be what I would want for a possible high rate of fire can. Especially low grade 6061.

Re: First Form 1 Design

With the ASR tubes, you don't need extra blast chamber material. If you need to move the cone further away from your brake, you can drop the appropriate spacer in before your first cone.

Re: Questions about drilling titanium and SS

I have used cheap drill bits from HF that were coated and rather expensive cobalt bits. Both did the job if care is taken. I always recommend the cobalt because they will take a little more abuse.

MMW's endcap doesn't have dimples/centering marks.

Re: First Form 1 Design

Leaving one spacer a little (.020" or so) long won't hurt. After firing a few shots, check endcap tightness and repeat for how many rounds you feel comfortable with, that you can't tighten the endcap any more. Then you can remove what little bit of the long spacer you need to get the cap to sit...

Re: Form 1 build material sourcing?

I had a customer send me one a while back. I just checked the skirt and it is .038" thick. After looking at it, I see why they went thinner. The I.D. of the skirt on the one I have is smaller than the O.D. at the base of the coned section. No way this one would have stacked onto another one. Th...

Re: Practice material

Get some cheap 6061 round bar and have some fun. Won't be anything like 17-4 or Ti, but you'll get the jist of threading, turning, boring and everything else that goes with the process and only risk pennies on the dollar. When it comes down to the real thing, go slow and check your work frequently. ...
