I have a 22lr can. Most times I can get 22 standard velocity. Much quieter but not quite as much punch.

Unless they do weekly thorough searches, people like myself with basic shop tools will make the own, unlicensed guns and ammo too. A 300 Win mag, even suppressed is still going to be loud. If hunting, probably not worth the added weight. Seems like I read about these ear plugs or muffs that only turned on when noise hit them, meaning you could hear the crunch or rustle of a critter approaching. I personally have not tried them....
