Re: O ring fit?
Visit the McMaster Carr website and search under "viton O-ring". They have a chart with the advertised dimensions versus actual dimensions. For instance, an O-ring that is 5/8" I.D. x 1/16" thick is not actually 5/8" (.625") I.D. x 3/4" (.750") O.D.. That O-ri...

The flush fit .578-28 piston also works really well on the FN FNX Tactical pistols, which have an unusually long threaded barrel.

Re: Illusion 9 for an mpx SBR host?
As long as the MPX barrel is threaded either 1/2-28 or M13.5 x 1 LH, you could use the Illusion 9 with one of the soon-to-be-released fixed barrel spacers that will fit in the Illusion.

Re: 300 Blackout and TI-Rant Suppressors
We're working on a dedicated 5/8-24 adapter for the Ti-Rant 45 that is essentially a piston and spacer all-in-one. We can't really make something like it for the Ti-Rant 9. When we designed the Ti-Rant 9 almost ten years ago, it was designed as a pistol silencer, not as a does-it-all silencer. As a ...

Re: Damn the man Promo Everything constantly out of stock?
I blame Remington more so than AAC in the grand scheme of things. They were forced to move. I still daydream of what if Sig had bought out AAC instead  Everyone needs to get this whole Remington vs. AAC s--t out of their heads. There is no AAC any longer. AAC is a brand. Just like Marlin, DPMS...

The 51 T Blast Deflector is ~ six ounces, is 2.5" OAL, and 1.5" O.D. MSRP is still looking like $150. Q2 deliveries.

Re: Tirant M replacing previous models?
The 45 M will indeed replace the Ti-RANT 45 and Ti-RANT 45 S in the lineup. We do still have inventory of Ti-RANT 45's, so they will be available for a while yet.
There are no plans at this time to do a 9 M. But, if enough people expressed an interest.............

Re: Element 2 vs Pilot 2
Everyone is right, go Element 2. A couple hundred extra dollars spread out over the four to six months you'll be waiting on ATF will get you a silencer you can keep and use for a lifetime.

The truth about AAC.
Having been at SHOT 2015 and hearing some of the wild rumors and unfounded speculation going around about AAC, I felt I needed to step in, clear the air, and set the record straight. RUMOR: AAC is going out of business. FACT: AAC is not going out of business. We are, however, moving to a new facilit...

Re: Found an old German suppressor design
I had the privledge of firing a Walther MPK with this silencer along with AAC founder Kevin Brittingham at a U.S. Army facility here in GA a decade ago. Interestingly, when I took the can apart, the third baffle (the K looking baffle) was installed backward from the position it has in the O.P. pictu...

Re: Moving to New York?
The major thrust of the law change was not so that Remington could build silencers in NY, it was so they could simply have them for T&E. Prior to the change, Remington had to get a letter from the military (not the police, the military) that specified the item they needed for a demonstration, wh...

Re: 2012 at SHOT from AAC so far
Do you think that a flat endcap will be available for element owners? We're seriously talking about an upgrade rear end cap for existing Elements. Please be aware that we cannot make the gripping surface on the upgrade part as long as the gripping surface on the Element 2. This is due to the tube o...

Re: 2012 at SHOT from AAC so far
Hey General Silvers, is there any difference in the baffles/endcap on the SR7 vs the N6? The baffle core in the SR5 is different from the M4-2000 in that it has been modified to reduce back pressure. Reducing back pressure minimizes "gas in the face", deposits less crud in the action, and...

Re: Element now has ss end caps and Ti tube!
Aside from a lack of gripping surface, quite a few people did not like the rear end cap aesthetically. Particularly the users who had bull barrelled hosts. We offset the weight gain of the new full diameter rear end cap by making it and the tube from Ti. We're seriously talking about an upgrade rear...
