Re: SOT went out of business, but a little different twist..
I left a message with Ted, but the NFA specialists that I left a message with yesterday said to just do a form 4 between the dissolved corporation and my trust. Then I would roll with that advice, worse case they kick it back. I called and left a message with Ted before the other person called me. ...

SOT went out of business, but a little different twist...
Ok I've been trying to figure what to do. I purchased a silencer direct from a manufacturer. I had said silencer transferred on a Form 3 to a local FFL. Due to personal issues it sat at the FFL for a couple of years. Recently I was reminded that I purchased the can. So I go searching for the FFL. Tu...

Re: Dept of Corrections testing new Rifles
There has been extensive testing on this, 5.56mm is MUCH safer then 9mm. When modern 5.56mm encounters the materials in your average home construction it fragments loosing power to nearly harmless levels, while 9mm (fired from both handguns and subguns) and 12ga shotgun (everything except bird shot)...

Re: AAC Mini 4
Nope, I have the 416-SD Mod 07, mostly I was looking for an even shorter package. I figure with a 11.5" or 12.5" barrel the Mini 4 will be shorter than a 16" gun. It would be nice if the Mini 4 has about the same level of suppression. I might get a M4-2000 Mod 08 in the future, but it...

AAC Mini 4
Anyone had a chance to shoot the Mini 4 yet?
I am considering getting the Mini 4, how does it compare to other AAC cans? IIRC the M4-2000 Mod 08 was quieter than the Mod 07 model, so I am wondering how the Mini 4 compares to the older short can 416-SD Mod 07?

Re: State of residence for a trust?
CThomas, These are two exceptions, if you trust isn't executed with two witness signatures it's not legal in Florida. And Maine requires gun trusts to be executed in Maine. According to this podcast: http://podcast.gunrights.us/2009/03/06/national-firearms-act-nfa-episode-112/ Which is an interview ...

Re: Form 1 Out of your state of residence
The lower was purchased in my home state as a receiver on a 4473, and I brought it with me. I was intending it to be a project to complete while on contract, to make a 16" carbine, but another SBR is calling me. Anyways since no transfer is needed that I why I thought that I could make a SBR, s...

Re: 11 Year-Old Girl At The Shooting Range
This is the girl that did the field strip in 45 seconds on youtube. James Yeager saw that, and invited her, and her father to fighting pistol. IIRC her father posted several videos of her doing various drills during the class on youtube. Edit: Found his youtube account: http://www.youtube.com/user/g...

Form 1 Out of your state of residence
Ok I know that I can't do a form 4 outside my state of residence.
I'm on a contract outside my home state, would I be allowed to do a Form 1 in my contract state, and then do a 5320.20 when I return home?
I have the lower here, a company that does laser engraving, and SBRs are legal.

Re: Retainer springs for '07 762 SD?
I'm not arguing I am just wondering where this restriction is coming from. Which rule? If we know where it's coming from then perhaps we have a chance of getting it changed. I am sure that Remington doesn't want people wasting time that they could doing profitable things doing changing a simple spri...

Re: Retainer springs for '07 762 SD?
With ATF's belief that a suppressor part is a suppressor itself, to remove the spring and ship it back means there are 2 suppressors. Stupid, I know. I will confirm. I am sorry but that makes no sense, what about pistons? Suppressor mounts? What about take apart cans? Does that mean that when I hav...

You can just file a 01-01-2010 to 12-31-2010 5320.20 to the states you are most likely to travel to. I file those every year for GA, TN, AZ, and TX. And if it's a truly last minute engagement that isn't on your yearly list I've found that the examiners can be very accommodating allowing same day app...

And Outsyd, it doesn't look like you have much experience shooting at 1000 yards and beyond, so you aren't even exactly qualified to act as a review board for long range claims either. I won't say that I have extensive experience, but I have some experience shooting at 1,000+ yards. But I've absorb...

You can believe what you want. I know better. The people I knew firing the missiles werent political and just wanted to get out of the army before their supervisors got them killed. No disrespect intended. But the trigger pullers rarely get to see the results. The detection systems aren't that accu...

Having spent two years in Patriot units and knowing knowing just about every one of the guys in the 32nd Army Air Defense Command in Israel and Saudi Arabia who actually pressed the buttons to fire, I don't believe that for a second. And one of my Professors at college was part of the team that des...

Those numbers are not accurate or credible. They are credible. It's success rate vs accuracy. Even at it's best a Patriot battery will be 25% accurate, because the standard Army procedure is to fire 4 missiles at a target, only 1 can hit the inbound missile. Thus at best it will have a 25% accurate...

The Patriot missile system was an early attempt at an ABM system. But it was still very successful, they engaged 42 SCUDs, and intercepted 41 of them. The one that they didn't intercept was caused by a software error that incidentally was fixed a day later. The Reaper is satellite based for most ope...
