Re: People hate us...

Personally I have many friends stuck behind enemy lines in California, DC and Maryland. Every time they start to bitch about how bad it is living there I ask them why they continue to support the very system which they so despise. Just being a productive member of that society reaffirms and propagat...

The IMI 158gr. blue tips are very nice as well, though admittedly hard to find.

Dean's demeanor started to changing about 2 years ago when he became defensive and short w/ people on the forums, shut down his shooting school and supposedly went back over to the sandbox to teach.

I hadn't heard from him since then and I hope these allegations are not true.

I use the RCBS press for my 50bmg relaoding. lee stuff is OK but to me...........get the RCBS If you dropped 10k for the gun you can afford some more for the press. Hey Jimmy, Thanks for the comment. Do you think you could expound on why you like the RCBS press better? I have no problem spending mo...

I have been advised that the M82 has some serious issues with a suppressor mounted-ranging from excessive recoil energy (and resulting battering of the action) to increased wear of the trunnion area. I was told by a suppressor manufacturer that Barrett does not recommend any suppressor for the M82 ...

Arguing which is better is pointless. They both require an extraordinary amount of skill. Hand-drawn cartoons require manual dexterity and artistic skill. Rob & Mark - Thanks, setup cost is important but if it's also better than that makes it an easy choice. I was a FCSA member while overseas and I learned a lot on that forum, nice people too. Maybe I'll renew my membership. I do not think good ammo is going to improve your M82 accuracy that much....

Sorry for the delayed response as I was traveling.

So two votes for the Lee .50 press. Any reason you chose this one over the RCBS or the Hornady?

Thanks again for the advise.

Single Stage Setup Advise (50 BMG & 308 Subsonic)

Based on the inherent inaccuracy of my M82, the scarcity of match grade subsonic 7.62x51 available in the USA for my AI AE Covert that's due in any day (right Stacey) and the constant ridicule of my shooting buddies I'm finally ready to jump into the reloading world and I was looking for some advise...

I sent them two e-mail requesting more information on their BMS suppressor when I was foolishly looking to run a can on my M82. They never replied. I can't add too much to this topic as I think the last two post pretty much nailed it.

Ultimately you're going to have to spend the time to get to know your rifle and understand there's a certain amount of art involved in coaxing out that last 5% of accuracy that most shooters will never see.

I've shot the NT4 side by side w/ both the SF and M4-2000 and all those I talked to at the shoot said the KAC sounded quieter. We switched the host guns and ran them through the course of fire again only to have all those observing give the same report. In my opinion the NT4 may not meter as quiet a...

Before everyone gets too wrapped around the axel on this subject I think we should limit conjecture and give Kevin /Robert an opportunity to elaborate... but they need to do it soon or this issue could turn into a very real PR nightmare.

Back to the original question, here are my thoughts: 1:8 - dedicated subsonic ammo only 1:9 - primarily heavy subsonic but can shoot supersonic 1:10 - best multipurpose setup 1:11 - std rifle Even at 220gr. past 500 yds you're going to have to stone him w/ a CNS shot as there's just no energy left. ...
