Re: Question on 3 jaw chuck
You can get a 5c collet chuck and step collet that woould cost about $50.00 on ebay. I have used these for many many years. They work GREAT and fast for set-ups. No need to spend $800 to over $1800. You can get them hex and sqaure to use with 3 and 4 jaw chucks. Can't go wrong with these chucks Goo...

Re: Question on 3 jaw chuck
Good info.....as said "thinking of collets". For now will more than likely stay with four Jaw as it is already paid for I've had good luck with cheap Chinese ER40 collet systems, accuracy is within what I require. Each collet covers a 1mm range ie: 2-3mm, 3-4mm, 4-5mm. I bought the boxed ...

Re: Fluid Dynamics CAD Tools for Silencersmithing
What the NFA does it forces improvement. If the NFA wasn't here we would have no better than European suppressor designs which are for the most part decaades behind US design and performance. I have seen you make this statement before - which leads me to be curious as to which UK, and other Europea...

Re: Previously good suppressor extremely loud on rifle HELP
Quote lava Or does the difference between HV and SV really that big beyond supersonic flight noise on a rifle? Does this mean I'll really need to buy Eley match ammo (The only SV available down here) using the high velocity ammo in the rifle barrel it will be going supersonic. I think you will have...

again Clevis, please read Wolfs post above... LavaRed does not sell designs tested or untested, you seem to have some issue with him for whatever reason, I have no idea why. And exactly what country is this? To say that suppressors nd suppressor design is anything other than hard science is to not understand the sciences that you are dealing with. As far as Google sketch versus solid works. You don't know much about CADD either. From where I stand you sound like you ar...

The reflex is not a bad sounding can, pretty effective especially in it's day, pricewise they were good value and light wieght which always helps, but times have moved on and informed purchasers generally go with other products these days IMO. The one issue that people seem to comment on is that the...

it's my feeling that posts dropped off a lot after Robert made us much more aware of copyright issues and asked members (Hush :P ) to stop cutting and pasting from news sites etc. It used to be that a sizeable chunk of comment would be pasted in, enough that a person could decide whether to look at ...

I would disagree with you both, basically Megrahi is a victim of a miscarriage of Justice and did not bomb PAN AM Flight 103 and the US Government has been aware of that from practically day one or very shortly after the event!!! Watch the papers around September 7th Hush and the days following, par...

think you folks didn't get the point so let me clarify Imagine yourself a solider that has a job of walking a few miles , getting to the enemy , does some shooting and retreating afterwards. What is needed is a camouflage that works in the same way a green uniform works in the green forests ( as in...

I had a similar issue not at home but at work so not really a problem, my work place lies is a very long isolated Glen/Valley, the works complex lies halfway up the hillside. RAF Leuchars is not far away at all perhaps 25miles. To be honest I enjoyed watching pairs of Tornados blasted through with t...

Why would you ask for permission Lava (other than as a courtesy) the Patent will not be a worldwide one but US only. I guess I'd feel wrong if I didnt. No shame in that Lava, SWR seem like good people. I designed and machined an Omega "style" can without permission but feel no guil...

On a side note, legal or not, I personally feel that you behavior as a gun owner is egregious and disingenuous. You are doing a diservice to the entire gun community as a whole and you need to stop what you are doing. Someday your local police are going to find some obscure blue law that says that ...

I could be wrong but seem to recall that Silencerco Patented the clamshell aspect of their design in which case if 82ndAirborne wanted to use that aspect of the design they would have to license it from the originator?

I was able to obtain permission several weeks ago to base a design on the omega baffle from SWR. It only took a few minute phone call and an email. I spoke to Henry....he asked a few questions and it was approved. I wonder if I would be issued permission for that. I've been wanting to build a 9mm/3...
