Re: K-Baffles step-by-step
WOW ... talk about a blast from the past .... someone asked me to update the links to the photos. Don't judge me on my 15-year-old tooling and machines  I have a full-sized mill and a proper angle table now Anyway ... K-baffles are pretty much obsolete I think. I believe most folks now much pre...

I believe that all FA is a lot more fun when someone else (like Uncle Sam) is paying for the ammo

Re: Replace the core?
If you are going to do a new Form 1, and pay the additional tax ... make a new one from scratch and have 2 !
You won't get a refund for the destroyed one ... so despite the legality of it ... I don't understand the advantage (if it is possible)

Re: Why the show Walking Dead sucks.
If you had an M16, a few mags on you, ammo was no longer made, only a head shot would stop them, and there were about 100 zombies, wouldn’t you semi auto to the head? They are using full a auto. Also, different groups of people call the zombies every possible name, except no one calls them what the...

It is 'silly quiet' too! I've shot it with 300 Whisper subsonic and .223 .... I've not tried it with .308 yet. I was told it has a Mystic-style core - but it is a sealed design. As it it only centerfire with jacketed bullets, I don't see that as a problem. It is slightly longer than 10.5 inches and ...

Thank you Liberty!
I made a Form 1 a few years back ... it was a basic cone/spacer in stainless. It was 'reasonable' for a Form 1 build, but I knew that it could be quieter than it was. Now - I know that some (maybe a lot) of 07's won't touch re-coring job on a Form 1 with a 10 foot pole - they often have no idea of t...

Re: Comparing and understanding K baffle differences
Makes sense to me .... #3 was mine and I made them about 8 years ago .... I wasn't 'cutting edge' then ... and I'm not nowBendersquint wrote:#1 will perform better than 2 and 3 but will not perform as well as a modern K baffle will.
2 and 3 should have been retired a decade or so ago.

Re: botched execution, death row inmate takes nearly 2 hours
Both of your beliefs are very wrong. Need some evidence? I am happy to back up my assertions. So -the assertions I have that are wrong ..... the percentage of cops who are 'bad cops' is not very low and the 'standard' for crime labs is to falsify evidence ...... Although that might make for an inte...

Re: botched execution, death row inmate takes nearly 2 hours
Until there is a way to halt cops from lying and crime labs from falsifying evidence, there should be no death penalty. The percentage of cops that are bad is very low .... that said, the problem is the bad ones look just like the good ones. I also don't believe that the 'standard' for crime labs i...

Re: Rebuilt Remington 540X
My main goal here was to see what I could do on the lathe. I cut the chamber, and mounted the barrel. This is only the second barrel I have done from a blank and this one is a pinned barrel and not a threaded one. I think the chamber and crown came out as good as a factory rifle and perhaps (in some...

WOW! Great job. Did you make the stock your self? The walnut butt plate really sets it off.
