Re: 50 BMG form 1 finally arrived. Making progress.

Thanks for the update. I hope you find the design you like. My baffles are as simple as you can get and worked fine. So don't over think it. redtazdog_ aren't you making one? I have ten form 1 stamps in hand and yes one of them is for a 50 that will be 16" length, 2.5 OD, still deciding what k...

It would be heavy and cost more than a enough stainless round stock to make a dozen buffers

Re: Homeade heavy buffer

been making custom buffers for many years, some for pistol calibers and some for rifle, some heavy some light and some that can be tuned easy. If you use tungsten powder the noise like the solid weights slapping around is gone. http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa166/redtazdog/DSCN2515w.jpg http://...

Re: AR15 SBR Short stroking, help needed.

What buffer are you using ? The heavier H2 buffer will hold the bolt closed longer and allow the brass to shrink back down in size so it will extract easier, faster and stronger. A buffer that too light will allow the bolt to unlock sooner when the pressure in the brass is still high causing the bra...

Re: Integral 308 - Dark Horse Arms

Why subsonic 308 when you can go with 300 BO for subsonic 30 cal fun,
I don't see on the website what the integral is made of and if full power ammo can be used without damage.
A 700 action in 300 BO and a custom integral I would think could be built for very much less than that price tag.

Re: Advice sought on when checks should be cashed

All of my checks have been cashed within two weeks or less but my brother had a check cashed at 10 weeks and three weeks later he had the stamp in hand.
Funny thing is we both mailed in the forms the same day and he still got his stamp a week before me
even though his check cashed so much later.

Re: Whitehouse.gov petition to remove silencers from the nfa

If this petition does work then great! as I think there should be no such thing as the nfa But if it awakes the sleeping bear and you loose then you have nobody to blame but yourself. Like I said, if you have NFA items its too late to be under the radar so having some that are not on the books wont ...

Re: Whitehouse.gov petition to remove silencers from the nfa

If they raise the tax they are not taking away our freedom to have nfa items, they would be pricing the average person out of the game. Back in the early 1990's I used to see silencer tubes and end caps on gun show tables on the east side of the building and baffles on the west side. This went on fo...

Re: How do MuzzleBrakes affect suppressor function and dB le

I have fixt a few of my guns that had poi shift with vs without the can. These barrels didn't cause any end cap or baffle strikes so the threads on them may have been close to concentric but just not enough for me. After chopping of the factory barrel threads and re threading concentric to the bore ...

I like it the way it is  + if we bitch too much it may be a wake up call and then the price of a tax stamp of 1934 prices may inflate to 2014 price or some change that could take us out of the game. I have a couple Tacsol SBX barrels and a few of my own style SBX barrels and never lost the end cap on the barrel.
If you put the end caps on the can with a tool instead of hand tight you shouldn't have that problem.

I'm thinking more like a7 inch barrel with less reflex area and more baffles up front would suppress better.
