Re: Ads?

And I've been around since 2007, haven't seen any of the plethora of ads I've seen since the beginning of the year.

I haven't changed my operating system (iOS) or browser (Safari) recently. I let others beta test.

Not a huge deal, all I'm seeing now are Amazon ads. Whatever.

Re: Ads?

Okay, technically that was an answer, but it is a little on the unenlightening side.

Ads?

Ok, I don't come here that often, but suddenly I'm seeing a lot of ads from Amazon at the top of every page and one down in every thread that I hadn't seen on the forum before.

Something change in the past few months?

Best 45ACP Rifle/Carbine to suppress?

I think the title pretty much says it all. I'm looking for a current production 45ACP long gun that suppresses well. And please don't tell me a Hi Point.

Re: Finally some pictures of the JJFU aero-sonic can

Since it comes apart into halves, it kinda needs "O rings" to properly seal. Like the head gasket on the engine in your car. Has anyone actually gotten their hands on one and tested it for sound reduction?

Re: 45Osprey Disappointment, Am I expecting too much?

The last time I went out shooting in the desert, I and another guy with 45 ACP's shot alternate side by side to compare my Osprey on a Sig 1911 to his suppressor (Octane, I think) on an HK. Everyone agreed mine was quieter (and bigger :) ), but it isn't as quiet as a 22lr. We later shot them at stee...

Re: Judge Rules ATF "Jumped the Gun"

There isn't anything in the NFA law that says the current almost year long process must be followed. It says you have to file the proper form, pay the tax, and the form needs to be approved. Virtually all of this could be done over the Internet in minutes, not months. Worst case, this should be no h...

Re: NFA Dealer Rant / Question

They only have one person doing it because the volume of NFA sales isn't enough to justify having more than one full time person devoted to it. She is probably the designated person for NFA activities there, which would simplify the dealer's paperwork when it comes to answering the ATF's questions d...

Re: jesse james new can, 10db quieter than the best?

Not that I think Jesse James is a genius, but the engineer in me says wait until you have an actual example of the suppressor in your hands and test it before you slam it. Not only is it good manners, but every now and then it keeps egg off your face. Especially if someone has posted misinformation ...

38 Super through a 9mm can?

Is it safe to shoot 38 Super through a 9mm can? I know it is higher pressure and marginally larger gas volume, but is there enough margin for it to be safe?

Re: Semi auto 22lr rifle host with threads out of box?

I'm not trying to be a dick, but why is the 10/22 off your list? You can build those into just about any form-factor, they're cheap, and notoriously reliable. A number of reasons. First off, I've had Rugers (not 10/22s) in the past, and the triggers were universally bad. Second, when I last owned o...

Semi auto 22lr rifle host with threads out of box?

So I want to buy a semi-auto 22lr rifle that is properly threaded right out of the box. I do NOT want a 10/22. So what are the recommendations?

I've shot pin shooting matches with a suppressed pistol. No problems, as I've sighted in the gun with the suppressor POI.

I'm sure the local IDPA would not let me shoot a suppressed pistol. Maybe a suppressed rifle, but they seem a little too tightly wound, if you know what I mean.

I'm working on suppressors for all of my guns, so one day I can have one on each (except for the shotgun). So if I had one on my HD gun, I'd use it in a HD situation. Until that day, I'll throw on the electronic muffs. I figure the semi-auto handgun with a "high capacity" magazine and a la...

Let's see, I can buy a 30 caliber can, and put it on 6 different rifles, two of which are .223, which will be a little louder, but I'll have less blow back into my face. Or I could put a suppressor on one each rifle, spend 6 times as much, and give the government 1200 dollars. I'll do that when I wi...

Never tried Kroil, but PB Blaster works wonders on stuck auto bolts and nuts. Stinks a bit though. Haven't tried to use it to disassemble my suppressor, just greased the threads before I use it, no problems (except for when I used anti-seize - that crap didn't work).

This whole discussion illustrates why I only buy suppressors that can be taken apart for cleaning. If a company can walk away from upgrades, why couldn't they refuse to clean your suppressor when it becomes filled?

If you use highly enriched Uranium 235, the bomb design is about as complicated as a single shot shotgun. Enriched U235 takes a lot of centrifuges in series (sound familiar?). Plutonium is a by product of any nuclear reactor. But the bomb design is one part nuclear physics and two parts fluid dynami...
