Re: Threaded Barrels That Can't Be Found

Excellent suggestions. I would strongly recommend NOT doing the extensions. They will void any suppressor warranty the second you strap it onto an extended barrel. Our barrels are all warrantied and insured. I was thinking we will start with the: 1. Walther PPS 9mm 2. HK VP70Z 3. XDM 3.5 45ACP If a...

Re: New baffle idea?

has anyone ever tried a baffle like this: A 60 degree cone but instead of clipping, scooping the front of it like a K baffle. I imagine this would work great for a cartridge like 300 blackout. It would be heavier and more complicated than a cone baffle, but lighter and less complicated than a K. Th...

Re: Scorpion questions

I really wanted to avoid using an adapter or turning my cheaper than a reliable 9mm AR into a money pit, I'll just buy a new Suppressor (Not Silencerco this time) with the right thread or trade the scorpion away to someone else who wont suppress it. its a nice system but the bone heads didnt look a...

Re: Suppressor cleaning and service life

There is plenty of value in owning a dedicated can for your caliber. Dedicated cans are tuned for the caliber....uni cans are jacks of many trades and master of none. This is exactly my question. The Hybrid has amazing specs and I can change the end cap to a .22 cap. So ... precisely what additiona...

Re: Commercial Suppresor Costs

I blame ITAR and insurance mostly. Total in materials for my 3 form 1s 308 - about 250 22lr - about 100 9mm - about 200 They are all titanium. My time isn't really relevant but if I paid myself 20/hr I would be just under commercial costs on all but the 308. However I'm working on a manual machine ...

Does anyone have a source on a .578x28 piston for the HEMS2? Re: Suppressor cleaning and service life

Being sealed is totally fine for the 9k. Just shoot BLK supers or 556 regularly to keep any buildups in check. The only cans that truly need to be serviceable are the ones that support rimfire. Shooting some supers or 556 regularly does NOT inhibit buildup. Been testing that theory for a few years ...

Re: Commercial Suppresor Costs

Being that people can legally purchase and own a suppressor, albeit jumping through the paperwork and paying the fees (taxes) it seems the potential market could be larger if not for the fact that at such costs, many would be buyers are priced out of owning such suppressors. There are cans for ALL ...

Re: Commercial Suppresor Costs

There is also a large markup for some brands. A suppressor I recently looked into was $1245 MSRP; someone was closing them out at $695 (a $550 difference). As I doubt the dealer was going to take a loss, that is a significant markup. mbogo Some brands do have more markup than others but even at tha...

Unless the barrel is marketed FOR suppressor use or "Silencer Ready" they guarantee it for muzzle brake or flash hider use and won't guaratee it ...

Re: Different method of cutting the scoop on the face of a K-Baffle

Everything I've read suggests using a ball end mill the same size as the bore and at the quadrant of the bore, plunge to depth, then back out. That makes a scoop cut with the sides curving towards the bore. Has anyone tried it the same way, except instead of backing out after the plunge, cranking t...

Re: Keeping a silencer wet for extended durations?

Even if it's in the muzzle I imagine the path will be cleared without incident similar to the way a gun can be fired while completely submerged in water. It's likely going to take a lot more material (20" of vaseline) or something with a lot more viscosity and particulates (mud) to result in a kabo...
