Re: Converting a modern rifle to 7.5 swiss

... I have around 1920 rounds of 7.5 Swiss that I bough for around 39 cents a while back when I had my k31. The bore wasn't very good so I sold it. Been setting on it since then. ... So an investment of roughly $750 worth of old ammo which might could be sold for ~$875-$1000 (Berden) is driving the...

Re: Converting a modern rifle to 7.5 swiss

It's your money to do as you will with. Just be aware that the conversion will cost at least as much and likely more than a good K31. They aren't as cheap as they used to be, but neither is a custom rifle. You can build your custom rifle in any caliber you want, that being the very definition of "cu...

Re: Converting a modern rifle to 7.5 swiss

The cost of converting the rifle so that you can shoot cheap surplus ammo could buy a good stash of .308 ammo. If you spend the time and money on the rifle, would you want to shoot cheap surplus ammo through it? I picked up a bolt action in 7.62x39 a while back hoping to take advantage of all the ch...

Re: 9X39MM Rifle... Possible?

There is a lot of coated bullet info on 300blk.com and other places around the web. It's amazing what is available now compared to even ten years ago. The 9x39 round certainly looks like an optimum balance of a lot of features and the VSS is the stuff of gun porn. I, like you, looked for a way to pu...

Re: 9X39MM Rifle... Possible?

9mm bullets may be more trouble than the cheapness is worth. IIRC the 358 gremlin is a .358 bore, so the .355 bullet is going to suck. There are some good coatings available on cast bullets that are night and day better than cast bullets were not so long ago. I know lots of guys use them in 300blk. ...

Re: 9X39MM Rifle... Possible?

I guess I misunderstood what you want to do. I thought you wanted a pdw type gun and want the ballistics of the 9x39 because you want to hunt with it. I also got the impression you want to reproduce the round and so on. Have you shot the 300blk? I know you said it's "not for you" but it does fairly ...

Re: 9X39MM Rifle... Possible?

I was in lust with the 9x39 round a few years back. It's cool but being completely foreign you are going to have trouble. There are no guns, no magazines no nothing in this country. You are looking at a completely self sufficient set up if you go that route. Ok, you hand load. That's fine, but you w...

Re: Sights Mounted on Pistol Silencers Themselves?

You only have one pistol? Go ahead and treat yourself to another and set it up to shoot suppressed. One gun sighted in for subsonic ammo and silencer, and one sighted in for whatever full speed loads you shoot. I can tell you that a Glock with a Trigicon RMR that co witnesses with suppressor sights ...

Re: Thrading a ruger mark III

Lots of shops will move the sight and thread the barrel. It's pretty common. As far as a trade in to get a mk4, best bet is to skip threading a gun you aren't happy with, sell it and put the proceeds toward the factory threaded mk4 that you really want. Over the years, I've spent way, way too much c...

Re: AK-12 STGW-57 and other cool banned guns - trump importation unban

Trump will do exactly nothing for us. It seems that a lot of people in the Trump camp suffer from that strange pinning of hopes thing that Obamanoids did with black Jesus. I have to say it, your right. Trump isn't going to waste what political capital he has on our pipe dreams. If, for the sake of ...

Great work!

I'm hoping this year sees me getting past some BS that I'm dealing with. Hopefully, I will be back in a position to buy some toys. When this thread started, I was ready. By the time guns were ready, I was no longer ready.

In 2017, I need to kick some ass.

CT has something like this. It's not uncommon for it to be abused.

If a guy values his guns, and losing them will hurt him, aaaand playing the "he scares me" card is going to weigh the settlement scales once the property and custody negotiations begin; you know what she's going to say.
