Really cool - thanks for being open and honest about the evolution, it's not something all are willing or able to share. Glad it's worked out well for the both of you.

I bought a couple of rattle cans of VHT Ceramic Header Paint (1300 DEG.) for the exhaust system and mufflers on my TL100R and had a bunch left over. It worked great on the pipes, so we tried it on my friend's high milage .223 can. It's held up to about a years worth of 30 round mag dumps. Sure, it's...

Not allowing CCW in a gun shop is absurd but I've got an even better one. How about a shooting range with no CCW? Yup. I shot a mid-range high power match last fall at a "gun club" in Cincinnati, OH. Posted directly on the front gate to the club is the no CCW sign. The following is a direct quote fr...

+1 on the Harbor Freight spot welders.

The last one I bought was on sale for less than 200 dollars including tax. We're a prof. welding shop and have 3 of them. The price is right and the quality isn't too bad. They're about 1/5 the cost of a Miller and for occasional use are just the ticket.

Per phone calls, as of today NEITHER Serbu nor Safety Harbor have ANY donor guns with which to build new product. Both will take name & number and give you a shout when/if something comes available.

I plan on making my 5.56 can welded. I'm just going to weld up the blast chamber and endcaps. The rest of the baffles/spacer will have the same OD as the can's ID and be pressed in. I'll look around for a local guy who can tig or mig and clean the welds up with a file/scotchbrite wheel before apply...

You didn't say how or what you used to engrave your can. The idea to just turn the tube down is really easy. If that won't work then one possibility is to have the tube Laser Welded to fill in the engraving. Conventional TIG welding would put WAY too much heat in a thin wall tube and I doubt your O....
