Re: Silencing a 45/70-dimensions to apply for?

I use 3/4"-28 threads on 458 Socom bull barrels that are 1.0" diameter at the muzzle.

Re: New SIG 762 can

Is it really protected? I'd never considered it. It's such a simple/basic concept that I find it hard to believe that the time, money and effort to patent such an idea would be worthwhile. I work in manufacturing, not design or engineering so my brain isn't wired to think that way. All right, are yo...

Re: Huntertown Arms Guardian

There are many better options, but they all cost more. These econo-cans do have their place. HTA doesn't do a terrible job, but I'm slightly surprised they're still around. The low end can market must be stronger than I think. Look at Hi Point! They sell more of those in a week than I make all year....

Re: New SIG 762 can

Nice to see other manufactures adopt the welded, tubeless technology into use. Many ways of manufacturing suppressors, but at least in our experience there are quite a few benefits from this type of construction. Most of our centrefire calibre suppressors have featured a fully welded tubeless const...

Re: New SIG 762 can

Anyone else remember back in the day, there was a utube vid of Robert firing a FA mag dump (or 2 or 3) on a 5.56 suppressor core minus the outer tube to demonstrate the durability of the welded core? Looks like it may be gone now. Anyway, I remember it mostly because he was wearing this sweet Vanson...

Thank you. Nice catch, 99.5% simply assume I can't spell.

The exterior does look great. The stainless option was worth the extra green.

Re: My vault door project...

Spending that kind of coin on a door with that kind of a collection and getting a half-assed product is a no go. Get a refund. You are going to be married to that half-ass job for the next 50 years. At this point "give me a refund and come get your door" is the only way for you to cause t...

Re: database of supressor plans ?

Unfortunately, I had the same issue years ago and things aren't any better now. You will find almost nothing in the manner of 'correct' dimensioned prints. There are many SolidWorks drawings (I call them "pretty pictures") here if you look around. Most guys building one can don't bother to...

jreinke,

Your comment got me thinking, so Santa brought me a pressure cooker and a dozen jars!

Any advice or special instructions on canning meat? I need to check out utube.

I've got deer, bear and hog. And a grass fed lamb I butchered this fall.

Re: Non-SBR rifle w/ long flash hider/ barrel shroud

Yes, it is legal so long as the shroud is permanently affixed per ATF specs. Good news! So, what is considered permanent? For instance, if I turn the barrel for a fit & Interference fit the shroud on w/ a heavy fit (2 mils/inch), I would consider that permanent. Would the ATF? Pin and weld over...

Nice! Beautiful machine work.

'Goteron' did something similar to put a brake on an AAC Miter mount.

Are they secured by anything but threads? Send it to me and I'll laser weld the joint (no charge) if you want to make it permanent.

Re: Would this 458 Socom can work?

Everything behind the muzzle is only 1/3 as effective as whatever is in front of the muzzle. Not wasted space, but not efficient space either. Understand the desire to 'use' the barrel space and it does make for a nice looking set-up. The 2 point mount will support a long/heavy can better as well. W...

ALSO! I was thinking of hardfacing the baffle wear areas. Has anybody tried that with stellite 6? Yes. Laser cladded +.010" thick Stellite 6 face to the blast baffle of 17-4ph H900. No idea how well it works, as the can is fully welded. It made me feel better about doing it though. Not a baffl...

Re: Stainless sheet forming

Quitter. Don't give up just yet. You have not exhausted all possible resources. There is another method. It's cheap, and it works great. No need for an expensive die set or punch press to form baffles from sheet stock, stainless or otherwise. The process work hardens the material and in some cases, ...

Re: New UMC 300 BLK ammo is finally flowing.

The focus was to agree to do what the military asked, and offer a working rifle and ammunition product family so they would have something to buy and use. To do that, the round had to be in SAAMI, which was not possible if it was a trademarked name. Moreover, it needed to be as good as possible, so...
