Re: 300 blk reflex style suppressor form 1

Since it's angled at 30*, wouldn't 1/16" suffice? This is for 300BLK, not .308 Win. The mouth would suffer erosion, but the blast being deflected would cut compressive and sheer stresses in 1/2, right? Reducing Plastic Deformation and material failure. True, but for form-1's, overbuilding is better...

Re: 300 blk reflex style suppressor form 1

do a little more research cleaning isn't exactly necessary on centerfire cans the powder burns a lot better thus not leaving it in your can. a common method of cleaning a centerfire suppressor is to do a mag dump or fire multiple shots fast. Why do you want the barrel with brake @ 16"? you could al...

Re: 300 blk reflex style suppressor form 1

Too complex. If you're going to do a dedicated suppressor, you might as well just go for an integral, which is lighter, simpler, and more effective. I'd personally cut down the barrel to 8.5", then perm-attach an 8" suppressor to that. It would be far lighter, and yield far more space for baffles, w...

Re: Rimfire internals - Design exposition

No, what I meant was that the gases have more pressure at the blast chamber than farther down the stack, for both designs, so it's easier to get them to expand into the extra volume at the blast chamber, than later on in little increments. Yes, that makes sense, when read like that. :D There's a po...

Re: Rimfire internals - Design exposition

Thank you for your reply. Some questions. Off the top of my head, I would say the first one will perform better because the gases have more pressure at the blast chamber, before being diverted towards the coaxial space, Why would there be an increased pressure from one to the other if both blast ch...

Top will perform better than the bottom one. I definitely would trust Mr. B. any and all times. Brains and experience over good looks and age. :) :) Seriously, it would be most interesting to make a measurable comparison. Lava? Since you seem to know something about these pistols, what thread will be found under there? Depends on the ACTUAL origin....I have not seen actual MOSSAD firearms EVER sold let alone exported to the US. I am sure there are exceptions and ones that "make their way" to the US. I have seen 7/16-28, 3...

I'm running Guatemalan milsurp M193 pattern ammo. No, AR parts are almost nonexistent here. But, I will order a spare spring and try this anyways.

Re: are some fully sealed cans made this way (ie. welds only

I made an can with baffles that threaded together years ago, for .22LR. It was very good for experiments, as I could tune the length and other characteristics, and the tests and results obtained from it spawned a whole family of suppressors and concepts, but it was impractical for everyday use. Bas...

Re: AR15 SBR Short stroking, help needed.

Thanks for the ideas folks. Unfortunately, I replaced the Paladin with a regular pinned gas block altogether, and the problem still persists. I ended up ordering McFarland one piece gas rings, and sent the barrel off to the machinist to have the gas port enlarged from 0.73" to 0.93, which is the ma...

Re: AR15 SBR Short stroking, help needed.

What buffer are you using ? The heavier H2 buffer will hold the bolt closed longer and allow the brass to shrink back down in size so it will extract easier, faster and stronger. A buffer that too light will allow the bolt to unlock sooner when the pressure in the brass is still high causing the br...

Sounds like the perfect opportunity to round them up and cart them back home en masse.

I'm honestly sick and tired of these people. They jump the queue while the rest of us actually go through the legal process of getting a Visa to visit the US and whatnot.

AR15 SBR Short stroking, help needed.

As some of you may remember, I recently completed 2 L119A1 builds, both select fire, one standard length, one with a short GSE buffer, 10.5" barrel, and a Paladin adjustable gas block Well, testing the shorty one, I have encountered lots of problems. Specifically: The rifle will fire about 3 rounds ...

You know guys, I've been doing my homework, digging around, talking to people and stuff, so, I thought I'd just leave this little tidbit of info here: The average price a coyote (human trafficker) charges to get a kid over the border, down here in GT, is about $5k -$10k. Many of these families don't...
