Re: Hot D*mn ... just got the call!

Oh I do understand! This was my new first stamp in 20 years and the first suppressor. Sheriff has changed and the new one isn't signing so we had to do the Trust hurdle for the first time. Good to participate in the NFA Tracker so that good statistics are built on wait times: http://www.nfatracker.c...

Re: 308 Win twist versus bullet weight??

308 Win rifle has 1:10 twist Douglas bbl. BLK has a 1:8. Only a few heavy projectiles available to measure for length. Would be good to have that information before buying bullets to try. Wondering if any 200s to 208s might work. Can hunt with suppressed rifle here. Bolt gun would be good for that. ...

308 Win twist versus bullet weight??

Am sure this is well known ... I just don't know where to find it. What bullet weight ranges are appropriate for what twists in the .308 Win?

Any good place to look for subsonic data for a .308 bolt gun?

Thanks!

Re: How effectively suppressed??

Is supposed to be a 35 db down can.

Subsonic loads in the rifle are pretty soft sounding already. Have no idea what to expect frankly.

Got started with supersonic load development and ordered a can ... as SAS Arbiter. Some odd happenings like the order getting lost caused significant dela...

Re: Hot D*mn ... just got the call!

A 22 cal can from Bowers. Should be fun. Another one? Already in progress :D Have a Form 4 in for 30 cal Ti can already. Octane-9 HD should be transfered to dealer in a month or so. Hope the Arbiter will be available for fall hunting (legal here and for piggies in Texas)! Darned transfers are slow!!!!

Hot D*mn ... just got the call!

Just got the call ... First Form 4 transfer on new Trust approved. Heading to the dealer to pick it up this afternoon.

Took longer than typical for the examiner and had begun to think I'd managed to foul something up. Must admit am relieved.

VA state law is friendly. What parts of NoVa are not NFA friendly if you have a trust? (Have a son that will have to locate in that area in the fall.)

I'd suggest you create an account on NFATRACKER http://www.nfatracker.com/Login.aspx?Re ... rHome.aspx and then look at the reports section. It will tell you what you want to know.

Re: Help me set up a soda blast system

OK fellas ... have heard of soda blasting, but haven't read much about it. I do have a blast cab and shop air. Have used sand, aluminum oxide of various knows grits, and even Black Beauty for heavy stuff outdoors. I assume the idea is to get something very fine and soft so that the base material is ...

Re: If I died..

With that in mind, I set up a trust for the last Form 4 transfers. When that is proven to work as a result of successful transfers to it, I will transfer the rest of the collection to it even though it costs $200 a pop. Is easier if it is done ahead of time. I keep all of the approved forms and the ...

Good length for a 22 LR host barrel??

Guys,

Am having a new barrel for an old High Standard M106 Military Citation threaded for a suppressor. Will not touch the original.

What is a good length for use with standard velocity ammo for suppressor use. Is currently 5 1/4" from inset crown to breech face.

Thanks!

Jimmy, Thank you ... I understand. Was asking because I do not want to run afoul of anything in the future. Not sure what kind of can I may try in the future. Just in the beginning phases of reading. I do like the K and Omega baffle systems as they seem elegant and also seem to have a reputation for...

Re: Elite Iron integral MKII take-apart conversion (beautifu

That's the answer I would have expected, but the OP said: "The hand-lapped, stress-relief cut barrel is a little over 3”, ported, and has five k-baffles post-muzzle. The tube a little over 8” and looks just like a target barrel." That led me to the question. Ruger barrels have never been widely prai...

Re: Newbie ... thinkin' about it

Anyone comment on the legality of recoring one that you've built on a Form 1 after it has been used for a while? Am sure that one's understanding of what works and how to make things improves significantly by doing the work. Not interested in building high pressure rifle cans. But in 22 lr to 9mm in...
