Have an old High Standard Military Citation. Getting ready to make up a threaded barrel with a scope mount for it. These do OK?

Re: Do you use registered mail to send in a suppressors?

I would use insured registered mail with a return receipt.

Dealers ship diamonds that way. Such packages are signed for at every point. Pretty secure.

Have shipped very expensive double rifles that way and felt secure.

Re: Threaded 1911 Barrel?

When I was building a good many competition pistols Bar-Sto made good bbls but was know to be slow and a PITA. If you choose to ramp (and 45 ACP w 155s does benefit from a ramp) ... be aware they fo not use a common structure. Kart makes good barrels ... no doubt about it. Nowlin makes excellent bar...

Re: Threaded 1911 Barrel?

A drop in barrel will never be quite as accurate as a gunsmith fitted match barrel. The latter will also need a fitted bushing to achieve its best performance. Briley makes a spherical bushing that promotes reliable repositioning of the barrel during cycling. Be aware that some 1911s require a diffe...

Re: If you could buy just one handgun, what would it be?

Based on the experience I've had with 30+ years of foolin' around with handguns it would not be any of those listed in the poll. Have owned quite a number of decent to very good pistols. My choice would be an STI wide body 1911 in 40 S&W with a good ramped barrel. Would load the ammo long and use 10...

Very pretty AR barrel. What is the purpose of the cylindrical bearing area behind the 3 lug?

Lawbob,

Perfect Down Easter answer! chuckle

Would appreciate anyone who might give me some dimensions.

Thank!

(Yes, I do have a note out to TROS. Manufacturers seem to be less than forthcoming with that data. Not sure what of the AAC data would be applicable.

Thread description for 9mm three lug adapter

Anyone have a 9mm barrel threaded for a 1/2x28 threaded TROS three lug adapter? Want to do one on a 16" AR bbl made from a hunk of Shilen blank. Have a superb and experienced machinist to do the work but need some idea of the required threading configuration.

Thanks!

Please note that while I may have accidentally started this sh*t storm ... it was done gently and was not personal. My apologies ... I tried to be gentle as it would not serve the community well for a show with a good start to descend into the pits of within shop dissension like one motorcycle build...

Good question. Last Form 4 I did was in 1998. Things have changed a bit since then. Would like to know how to tell if when one "goes pending."

Just sent one in ... check cashed in two days.

Re: New Discovery Channel series Sons of Guns airing Jan 12!

Will, The show is fun. I'd suggest you emphasize the NFA process a bit more so that the public doesn't get any simplistic ideas about how easy it is for an end user. In the last couple of episodes I must say that your ego is showing a bit and it is not always flattering. Two examples: 1) Was not a b...

Re: Three stamps came in today

First of three (or four) Form 4 applications mailed today. One other in Form 3 approval. One in manufacture. I remember this part from before ... in 1987 it took for bloody ever ... months and months and months. With the hassle of a then required state permit it was 13 months overall. In 1996 it was...

Muzzle thread specs??

Guys,

Is there a standard spec for 1/2x28 muzzle threading for a 9mm suppressor? for same muzzle threading for a 22 LR suppressor? Where can I find them?

Thanks!

Mosquito ... mags

Guys,

Have a suppressed Mosquito in progress. How many magazines come with the pistol? Are there more than one kind of factory magazine available for it? If so, which one is preferable from the standpoint of function?

Thanks!

Wonder what it costs to have a long barrel threaded. Turns out EAA and Briley barrels are still available in 6" lengths.

Re: EAA/Tanfolio TZ75 9mm Witness as host?

I believe Baby Eagle barrels are compatible. Who is EFK?

Found that EAA does have 6" barrels, but they are not cheap. E-parts has 4.75" barrels but that is too short to thread.

Thanks!

EAA/Tanfolio TZ75 9mm Witness as host?

I happen to like the Tanfolio TZ75 (EAA WItness and Springfield P9) 9mm pistols in preference to the Beretta or Glock pistols. Anyone use them as a host for a suppressor? Anyone know of a source of longer barrels that can be threaded? I only have one Briley left from the IPSC days and it appears Bri...
