Re: Carbide Inserts for 416 SS

I have yet to use carbide on 416 in over 30 years of shop time.A 10% cobalt HSS or T-15 with coolent is all that is needed.CMV did a excellent home made coolent system thread that would be a great addition to your shop with either ground tools or carbide. If you wish to play a bit check out AR.Warne...

Carbide Inserts for 416 SS

Been looking for Inserts that work well for machining 416 SS. There are a lot of inserts that I have found that work for 416.
What are the ones you use?

I am getting fairly good at sharpening HHS, anyone using this while machining 416?

Learning.

Re: HTG Aries baffle picks

George did my gunsmith work for years before I got the NFA bug.
BRO told me they made some changes to the baffles of HTG cans.
I was in their manufacturing shop twice when they were in Boise.

HTG Aries baffle picks

I have a HTG Aries I bought rite before George left the USA. I am happy with the sound it has.
I saw the baffle pictures here,http://www.rrdvegas.com/silencer-cleaning.html
.
I am taking my time readying for a 30 cal form 1. Do the HTG 30 cal cans have the same type baffles as the Aries 5.56 can?

Re: Getting the lead out

Thanks, propeini & doubloon. So that's all this dip is. H2O2 + Acetic Acid. Awesome. I can get 5% of both. I guess the real trick is getting the solution into the interior areas that normally trap gasses as they are probably where the most buildup will be. So soak, salt (NaCL), and run 40 rounds or...

We have tested it on anodized and bare aluminum and it damaged both.

You are very lucky.

I was not aware of this organization.

I guess my biggest question is do the suppressor manufacturers want no BATF regulation on suppressors?

What do you think?

My take;
Common sense says they are tightening the screws to make it more difficult for some or as many as possible to manufacture legally.
