Re: Just got my form 1 back today and was a bit surprised...
I would think the key to matching the performance of the professionally manufactured cans is to overbuild one. It's gonna be heavier and longer than a pro can, but I'd imagine you could meet or beat them for performance. It just ain't gonna be as pretty or compact. I've been pondering the idea myself.

Re: Update on me having waited 7 months for a form 3.
Another update: Drove an hour to my dealer today. I get there, the guy gets the suppressor out of the safe, looks around the box, and then tells me he can't do anything without the transfer forms that should have been in the box. So, now he says he has to call and get those sent. That's why they we...

Re: Update on me having waited 7 months for a form 4.
The form 4 is a tax paid transfer dealer to dealer would have been a form 3 no tax trasnfer so somebody's got the story messed up. It's just a terminology snafu on my part. Form 3 then. The story is still the same. Just to reiterate, I think Major is a good guy and a good person to buy from. I just...

Update on me having waited 7 months for a form 3.
So, I ordered a Stainless Sparrow on January 28th from Major. I'm patient, don't spam e-mails asking where it's at, etcetera. In I believe June, going from memory here, I'd have to look at my Outlook at home to be sure, I e-mailed asking for a status update, since, from what I've read, it should hav...

You ever got any good game with that game getter, or did you just get it just to get it?

Re: Gay-Americans love AAC
Ah. Honestly, I don't know a damn thing about suppressors aside from the Silencerco one (Stainless Sparrow) I ordered the better part of a year ago. For that matter, I don't know anything about AAC, its suppressors, or cliquishness towards AAC on this site. There sure is a lot of weird tension and i...

Re: NFA transfers taking 5 months?
I bought a Stainless Sparrow from Major in January. I haven't heard anything about it since. Major is a great guy to deal with, and his prices are great, but now I regret buying out of state, and I'm annoyed with the whole thing, wish I hadn't bothered, etcetera. If I would have spent $100 more and...

Well, that's good to hear, at least. Maybe if I'm actually able to get this thing sent to my dealer soon, I'll have it before fall.ssnfa wrote:Sounds about right, my Form 3's are taking twice as long as my Form 4's!!!

Re: Still waiting for a dealer to dealer transfer from late
Man. I really wish I would have drove a few miles and found someone selling locally. I can't believe it's been four months now. I could have already been approved for the silencer itself on a personal level, were I not waiting for this. I don't think anyone had stainless Sparrows locally at the tim...

Ordered a Stainless Sparrow from Major back in January...six weeks later, still waiting for dealer to dealer to be approved. Is this typical right now? Edit: Looking at these other recent posts, I guess it is. Gah! I wish someone in state actually had the things back then. I could have been six week...

Re: My "new" Ruger MkII avec Pac Lite.
I've looked at them before. Personally, I don't think stripping one is that big of a deal. After you do it a few times, it loosens up pretty well. I don't really have any problems getting the bolt working again. Very simple operation after you've got it down. That being said, those speed strip kits ...

Re: My "new" Ruger MkII avec Pac Lite.
To be honest, I would considered buying one of those Ruger factory 22/45's with the upper and lower rails, had they been on Gunbroker a couple of weeks ago when I was in a buying frenzy. I know my concerns are probably unfounded, but I do wonder about the longevity of this Pac Lite upper. Aluminum ...

Re: My "new" Ruger MkII avec Pac Lite.
$75-100 for a dealer to do a simple 5 minute paperwork task  . I just dont get why people think its so great to buy their "major" discounted silencer from an out of state dealer to only turn around and piss away the savings on some opportunistic dealer to transfer:?: I say buy local and patro...

Re: My "new" Ruger MkII avec Pac Lite.
Did you re-assemble correctly? I had an issue a few weeks ago when I didn't hold the gun correctly while putting the mainspring housing back in (you know how you have to hold it pointing up, pointing down, whatever, whatever). So I missed a step. Bolt wouldn't go back all the way, when it did (with...

Re: My "new" Ruger MkII avec Pac Lite.
And for some reason, after we put the Volquartsen parts in, the bolt isn't always going fully back in. It acts like it's hanging on something. I.E., you pull the bolt back a few times, it'll go in, go in, go in, then maybe the fifth time, pull it back again, and it'll stick out a little bit and not ...

Re: My "new" Ruger MkII avec Pac Lite.
I bought the gun for $300 (I've seen them as low as $225 locally, but I missed out on them.) I paid $265+ $12 shipping for the 4.5" Pac Lite from "Outside Dog" who is an FFL who deals on Gunbroker. They actually had a better price than Paul Zint did for the same piece. They're based out of Georgia, ...

I'm not advertising for any of them.) Rails: $340: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=216688870 $350: h...

My "new" Ruger MkII avec Pac Lite.
I'm putting a Volquartsen trigger, sear, and extractor in it this weekend. Should I have bought a Clark hammer bushing for it, too, or is that mostly MkIII people who need those? I love this gun, though. Looks and feels great. I can't believe there are people who say MkIIs/IIIs are "too light" with ...
