Re: I may be backing out of the YHM Mite purchase. Need help

You are correct if you want to add in the tax stamp. So tax stamps are no longer required, they are optional? Do you always want to use a red herring to displace the argument or can you take the point given? The point is that there is a line of diminishing returns. 380 divided by 39 is 9.74 ...

Re: I may be backing out of the YHM Mite purchase. Need help

If you you pay 500 for a suppressor and get 45 db in reduction you pay 11.11 per db reduced. If you pay 180 and get 39 db in reduction you pay 4.61 per db in reduction. No, you forgot the price of the tax. If I pay $400 for a suppressor that gets 45db reduction I pay $13.33/db. If I pay $200 for a ...

Re: I may be backing out of the YHM Mite purchase. Need help

The idea that these are throw away cans is stupid and wrong headed. The cans will last a life time if taken care of. The whole thing boils down to how much do they reduce sound. If next month there is a new design that reduces the sound down below your coveted sparrow I will be the first to post ge...

I think you have chosen the wrong cars to compare. A better choice would be a Yugo and a new Honda Accord.
OK so I would be correct in thinking you don't like the entry level cans? LOL

Either way, I`ll have some cool silencers and a stamp collection!
At 180 I do not plan to sell my can either. BTW what do the stamps look like? Are they like a title to a car or just some BS paper work?

[/quote] If you paid $180 for a suppressor and sell it for $80 you are out $300. If you buy a $400 suppressor and sell it for $300 you are out $300. The problem is you're not going to sell a silencer for more than what someone can get it for new. A used $180 suppressor won't sell for $80 because the...

Re: I may be backing out of the YHM Mite purchase. Need help

I would advise that person to buy a good car for $400 instead of; a piece of crap that is noisy, is made out of crappy materials, one that is non-repairable, one that may not be repaired, and only costs $200 less. Like it or not a 100% tax on a crappy $200 suppressor means that the suppressor is wo...

Re: I may be backing out of the YHM Mite purchase. Need help

What would you buy if there was a $200 tax on the RC plane? The $400 plane or the $200 plane. Knowing that the plane is subject to a $200 tax, the more expensive model sounds better, is made of better parts, probably more durable, and the performance far superior. I would buy the 89 dollar cheapest...

Re: I may be backing out of the YHM Mite purchase. Need help

I bought the TI-65, the price of 180 all in is not bad for an entry level can. I have been told its a bit better than the YH. I understand its an entry level can but at that price it is paying for half my tax stamp. The YH was 300 plus a stamp this is 180 plus a stamp. For me thats more in the ball ...

Re: I may be backing out of the YHM Mite purchase. Need help

I know CBs do not cycle but I did not have any sub sonic and this would give me an idea of how it would sound. CBs may be quiet on a rifle but they are not quiet on a pistol and sound every bit as loud as a regular unsuppressed 22 out of a rifle. The Hyper velocity. 22 in the TAC with the sonic repo...

Re: found a dealer that had stock

Thanks, I know its not top shelf but for someone getting into it, this price fits the bill. It has the same guts that the Gemtech alpine has, Or at let to me it looks like it. Aluminum cone baffles. Price was not % but dollars, 180 for the can and 25 for the tool. Tax out the door was 218$. This giv...

found a dealer that had stock

I have been learning about suppressors and was getting the YHM mite. The dealer kept thinking it was coming in but finally found out its a couple of months away. I ran across a dealer I bought a lower receiver for my M4 build and he was class 3. Bought an in stock TAC 65 for 180% and 25 for the tool...

Re: I may be backing out of the YHM Mite purchase. Need help

I just do not have enough choice in the Wichita area. I have only one place that will even work with me, they have the Gemtec Alpine for 425 Or I can wait for the YHM for 280. I can not even get a call back on the Tec 65. The only place I can find that will do a transfer charge 100 and I still have ...

I may be backing out of the YHM Mite purchase. Need help.

I have posted here and gotten much information on the YHM Mite. I decided to just take the Mite knowing it was not a top shelf can. The seller has not gotten it in after 3 weeks and Since I did not buy it by order but rather the seller had already ordered a lot in and I was buying one of those, I am...

The shop has the AAC prodigy and I listed to them side by side and the Mite was quieter to my ears. I don't know what to say but it was quiter.

Re: Thinking of getting a YH for my p22

You guys are starting to make me think I should rethink this. I bought the mite yes but I did not order it. Its part of an order that the shop had already comming in so I think I can change. I don't really have the money to dump another couple hundred bucks into it. Is there a good 22 can that maybe...

Re: Thinking of getting a YH for my p22

I appreciate your opinions. I shot the Mite at the gun range in a closed room with mufflers off ears. It sounded fine to me. Can you tell me why the Mite had a lower db than the ones tested on this video or are they all crap?

YH can

I bought the mite. I know that many don't like it but I had the dealer take me into the shooting room and hear it. It was fine to me. I also watched a video where several suppressors were tested on the same gun with the same ammo and the YH was the quietest with 125db. Others came in around 129/132....

Thinking of getting a YH for my p22

New to this area of shooting. I have been looking at a Yankee Hill Suppressor for my p22 and can pick one up at about 285 plus Tax stamp. Seems like a nice suppressor. I have a question about buying one then moving a year or so later. I know it would not be legal to take to a state that does not all...
