Re: anybody have the remington 700 sps @aac

I like mine very much. However I have only shot it at 100yds, but the rifle will put three shots in one hole. Waiting on some extra cash to put a better scope and add a suppressor to it.

Re: New guy, jumping in feet first.

JohnInNH, I know it's available, but I'm actually looking forward to making the brass and pretending it's a wildcat. That will either satisfy my urge or feed the need for something really crazy. bg556, I'm already pacing, especially since the deal fell through. I'm talking with another dealer now. ...

Re: New guy, jumping in feet first.

Good buy. Like you I am new, just received my first stamp back for an SBR and now waiting for my form 4 for a SWR Renegade. You will learn a new definition for patience..... My form 1 for the SBR took about 4 months and ten days. Admittedly on the first stamp I did call the NFA to verify the form we...

Re: SWR Renegade Manual

Thanks for the review. I understand it was only one session but did you notice any POI shifts, were they repeatable? Also, you say the can started to loosen after a string of shooting; do you recall how many rounds were fired through it before you noticed (or is the loosenes referring to the ratche...

SWR Vanquish

I see in SWR's downloadable catalog that there is a new suppressor called the Vanquish. It appears to be very similar to the Specwar with the exception that it is chambered in 7.62 instead of 5.56. As I own a 7.62 rifle and a AR-15 (in 5.56) and love killing two birds with one stone, I was wondering...

Re: SWR Renegade Manual

Just ordered the renegade and it is my first suppressor. For anyone who has received one what are your impressions? I originally pre-ordered the SWR Specwar but ordered the Renegade instead for various reasons. I have heared great things about SWR products, my question (and this is not meant to be ...

Re: Smith or Colt

I'm looking for a good AR-15 under $900 or so. CDNN has some pretty good deals on new LE marked pencil barrel Colt 6520's with A2 upper at $899 and Smith and Wesson M&P M4 flattop with carry handle at $799. If it was your dime which would you get and why? Looks like the OP was looking for our OPINI...

Re: Smith or Colt

I know others will undoubtedly chime in but oh well... I did not argue what mil-spec was other than stating it was Military Specifications (see below quote), if that is wrong, than what can I say. I did not go into specifics and even admitted I had originally thrown the term 'Mil-Spec' around too lo...

Re: Smith or Colt

The only big difference between the two (I've shot both) is the markings and the price. Just to recap, I'd like to see you "back up" this claim. in regards to the run of the mill configuration there is not much difference between Mil-Spec AR-15's with Mil-Spec parts. Can you please point me to the ...

Re: Smith or Colt

It is pretty obvious we will not see eye to eye on this. I won't convince you, you won't convince me. Is the Colt that much better? According to you yes, according to me no, the reality is those are our opinions. We argue on on Mil-spec though we both appear to say the same thing about it. So unless...

Re: Smith or Colt

{"arguable"? Aren't differences either there, or not there? I have brown hair, my brother has red. is that somehow "arguable"? I don't understand this statement.}

And in reference to the above statement, I say arguable as I still have yet to hear what the difference is between the two.

Re: Smith or Colt

So ther term 'Mil-Spec' has nothing to do with military specification? I did not say that all people who claim 'Mil-Spec' were telling the truth, just stated what I thought Mil-Spec meant. So if you are arguing that Mil-Spec does not infer military specifications, which is what I posted, then what ...

Re: Smith or Colt

It's been awhile since I've seen this much misinformation in one place. Stag no longer makes the guns for Smith & Wesson. "Wilson" barrels as used by Rock River Arms are not from "Wilson Combat". The brothers that started Rock River Arms left Les Baer to start their own 1911 company. They lost thei...

Re: Smith or Colt

I guess I must start this with a disclaimer: "I am no expert, this is soley my opinion or information I have gathered from other sources" For what it's worth.... In my understanding something Mil-Spec was referred to as being something that met military specifications, a product in use by the milita...

Re: 'BEST' 556 Silencer

I understand there is a lot to consider and 'best' will be relative to the buyer. In my opinion AAC is top notch, cans don't get much better (Would love to own one but just a bit out of my price range for the time being). And comparing a mid-level can to a M4-2000 is like racing a Honda Civic agains...

Re: Smith or Colt

You are implying I am ignorant because both rifles shoot and handle the same? I don't buy rifles for antiquity, re-sell value or as collector pieces. In the AR-15 realm, I feel there are better built rifles and lesser built rifles. The better ones would include Noveski, LMT, etc. They are better in ...

Re: Smith or Colt

One, I don't remember implying 'perfection' on any AR-15 type rifle. And I'm not sure where an 'emotional connection' was implied either. In fact the only emotional connection I have seen is in arguing on behalf of Colt, and why it is so much better. Look if you want to justify why one type of rifle...

Re: Man dies after police use Taser at Universal Studios

Either way, no disrespect to the dead, but if you comply you don't have to worry about these things. Notice the average citizen doesn't have to complain about these things. It would be unfortunate however if it was a case of mental instability that led to his behavior, but a taser alone will not kil...

Going to explain further? So far you just called people ignorant yet made no effort to explain your response. Re: M4 Suppressors

Originally I was going to go with the M42000. But depending on what you consider to be 'best' it may be the KAC. The KAC suppressor will meter louder, but will have more of a dull report than the others which typically may have more of a high pitch crack. So while one may have a bigger db reduction,...

Can't speak for anyone else, but I can manage to go out in public and NOT get tasered.... Keep in mind that every police officer carrying a taser is a living testiment to the fact being tasered won't kill you, unless you have a bad heart or drugs in your system, in which case you should have listene...

'BEST' 556 Silencer

I was once told by a distributor that when it comes to 5.56 suppressors, they all sound relatively the same. Obviously some companies will be quieter than others, but not by a lot. It was explained that the materials and construction or what really sets them apart. Anyone with experience in such thi...

Re: Benefits of a rifle caliber SBR

Depending on who you are the answer will vary. Individuals who are LEO, Operator's working overseas, and basic shooters will all have different reasons for shorter barrels. Typically it's a 'want' over a need when it comes to the usual shooting crowd. I am SBR'ing my AR-15. My reasoning, I wanted a ...
