Re: Record 3 day eform

Wow, 3 days has got to be an accident on their part, no way they (ATF) could do that on purpose :)

Why do more people NOT do this? Under the rails = too hot on the hands.

Even slow fire, my cans get real hot and quickly.

Re: Rifle length gas system with suppressor?

There is a pretty big difference between my Mk12 clone, and regular carbine when running suppressed. The rifle length system is the clear winner for softer recoil impulse, and less gas in my face. I'm with RJT on this. My rifle length gassed AR's run smoother with and without suppression; nature of...

Re: What causes a deeper tone in a F1 can?

It wouldn't be practical other than for testing, but I bet a lead coating on the tube would help deaden the tone
also. Or an outter sleeve filled with sand.

Re: What causes a deeper tone in a F1 can?

I was curious about this as well, Googling it doesn't really come up with anything concrete for me so I am going to guess and say larger volume, denser materials (heavier). I don't think a lot of open documentation or studies have been made with this specifically, and if any have, probably held clos...

Re: SHOT SHOW 2015 5.56 Suppressed Bolt Carrier

So it's just a heavier BCG?
What is the advantage for this over a much cheaper
adjustable gas block or tuning the port like many of us have done?
I'm still new enough to this game where I am interested in learning more, am I missing something?

If you want actual measurements, you'll have to wait until I get home.
The length is the only thing I remember seeing as different (besides the bore diamter)
of my 5.56 vs. .30 cal QD FH's.

Re: hello All

Nope, you did nothing wrong at all. You got a good caliber and a good suppressor. My first rifle can was a 30 cal so I could shoot it on a boat-load of 30 cal and under rifles I have, more bang (or pfffft) for the buck. The difference between a 30 cal can on a 5.56mm rifle and a 5.56 can on a 5.56 r...

Re: Monocore for 5.56mm. Will it work?

Everything I've seen, read and heard the answer would be no, it would not work well for that caliber or in those barrel lengths.
I think you will get some reduction based on volume alone, but not good suppression.

Re: hello All

Welcome aboard. The approvals are slowly getting quicker as the ATF effectively tripled their manpower in the NFA branch. Everyone has their own needs and wants, I get that, but I am curious, usually first timers don't go for the 556 cans, and the K is even odder, may I ask you reasoning behind this...

Re: .223 vs .300blk AR pistol build

5.56 in a 10"-ish barrel is losing a lot of *oomph*, 300 Blk in that same barrel length is still full power. 5.56 suppressed is still stupid loud, 300 Blk is really quiet. 5.56 is boring, 300 Blk is new and exciting. 5.56 is known to be 'regular', while 300 Blk is 'sexy' I think the answer to your q...

Re: Gauging interest YHM QD ACME thread adapter for Form 1 builders

ALthough I disagree with what Bender stated in 'spirit', it is nonetheless against the law to manufacture a silencer part without the proper licensing. In this instance, it is intent that'll get you in trouble. Your examples aren't silencer parts because they are not intended to be so. If a form 1 u...

I seriously doubt this type of bonus program for these 'clubs' will have
any type of negative impact on these companies bottom line. In the short term
and possibly for foreseeable future, it will help them.

Depending on prices offered, I will be all over this.

I wonder if this is a typo
"Federal 147 Hydra Shock 131 dB
Federal 124 FMJ American Eagle 131dB"

No difference between subs and high velocity ammo?

Interested to hear from eventual owners and their real world experience
with these, once they start hitting the streets.

Re: Paranoid delusional question about Form 1 Wait

What srs said above ^ Also, NFAtracker can sometimes be misleading for a variety of reasons. Look at some of the approved dates as an extreme spread of a window, and your's is 'somewhere' in that spread. Not being able to find your F1 via serial number would concern me too, but as long as they did, ...

Re: shortest sbr 300 blackout that will cycle subsonic

I have two, one 8" and the other 10.3", both with pistol gas length, both run fine suppressed and unsuppressed. Think AAC developed it to run under a 8.5 - 9.5 barrels right? Simple fix if you go shorter, just open the gas port up a little bit until you get reliable cycling. There is a point of no g...
