Re: Specwar or Saker
I bought the Saker after seeing all the specs and such but now it seems all the support and newer items coming out are for Specwar mounting systems. I like the way the Saker mounts, it seems easier because you grab the whole can, not some little locking ring to mount/dismount it. Its easier for me ...

All the instruction manuals on my rifle cans say to not run them wet.

Re: Buyer beware of Advanced Armament/an ongoing experience
It is too bad Remington destroyed them. I sure like my 300TM and Pilot, but I'd be hard pressed to buy anything else from AAC.

I prefer the appearance of the Osprey over round cans too. I even put a squashed chicken on my 1911 to match the SCo logo.

Nothing to worry about. I've efiled F1s with the same Schedule A and they have all been approved.

Form 5s are processed pretty fast, and there is a grace period. A dealer couldn't take possession without a F4 to them.

I've called my dealer and told them what I wanted and paperwork shows up in my mailbox a few days later. It isn't a big deal for me, I guess there are a lot of crappy dealers out there but mine are good.

I appears your friend should be able to get the can once the wholesaler ships it to the dealer. What a mess though. I'm lucky to have two very good and responsible dealers to work with.

Re: In the market for a new 556 suppressor, any suggestions?
I like my Specwar 556, but if I did it over again I would get an Omega. The Omega is so much more versatile than any other can out there, plus it is light weight and full auto rated.

Judging by the size of the parking lot at their HQ there are at least 75 people working there, no idea what shifts they run though.

Re: AeroPrecision Dedicated Suppressed 300 Blackout Upper
AP makes good stuff BUT that is pricey! With todays AR prices its much better to build your own or buy similar. I think you would have a tough time beating that price. After $1100 for the Omega, that leaves you $450 for the upper. $150 for a barrel, $100 for a receiver, $100 for a handguard, $100 f...

I really like my Octane 45HD, I use it primarily on an SBR 300BLK. I can't imagine why I would buy anything from AAC again.

http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/ammunition/rimfire-ammunition/cci-22lr-standard-velocity-500rd-box-50035.html The VQ short kit is only if you want the gun to cycle, if you're content with it not cycling then you just need the magazine. Honestly I'd try loading some shorts in your factory LR...

I went 8" with a 13" ALG handguard, the Octane fits pretty well under there and looks good.

Owners should be protected by the Grandfather Clause, just like people who manufactured machine guns prior to '81 or whenever that was.

It is pretty hard to beat an Omega for a do-it-all 30 cal can. ASR or Thread mount, light, quiet, & full auto rated. Also it is good down to 8" with the 300BLK.

Mine works fine with an 18lb spring and Octane.

Re: I need some new hosts!
The best way to do the 300BLK is with an 8 or so inch barrel. That does require a pistol configuration or a Form 1 SBR. I went the SBR route, you can efile those online right now if you have a trust, they are about a 60 day turnaround. I'm running the Octane 45 on mine and it is very quiet.

The law of diminishing returns eventually takes over, but with increasing volume you will get increasing suppression. A Ti 556 can like the Gemtech Trek-T would be perfect on that K Hornet.

Both are very good, is a few ounces or saving some money more important? I have the Specwar now and an Omega on order.
