Re: Suppressor for Weatherby accumark

In that case, consider a muzzle device that directs blast forward instead of to the sides. Two examples are the Helios by VSeven https://www.vsevenweaponsystems.com/helios/ , and the King Armory KA-0433 http://kingarmory.com/ka-0433_muzzlebrake_lapua.html . Of the two, the Helios directs all gases d...

Are you looking for recoil reduction or muzzle blast reduction?

Re: Suppressor for Weatherby accumark

Are you firing factory ammunition now or handloads? What bullet weight?

If you're using 250gr. bullets, there is only ~100fps difference between factory loads for the two cartridges.

In either case, a can will not reduce the downrange supersonic crack of the bullet.

Re: Suppressor for Weatherby accumark

Call the suppressor manufacturers directly for a definitive answer. In my discussions with them, it seems gas pressure at the muzzle is the biggest consideration after suppressor construction and internal volume.

Re: Omega 9k adapter loosening up

The adapter's threads may be on the minimum side of tolerance while the can's thread might be on the maximum side.

Call SilencerCo tomorrow. They should be able to help. Ask them to send you another adapter to try.

Re: Trust Strategy

Be advised that transferring your NFA items to a trust will require Form 4 submissions plus $200 for each item (plus the seemingly interminable waiting for approvals). If you keep the NFA items in a safe to which no one else has access, you don't need to "protect" your wife or in-laws with a trust. ...

Shoot without the can to check for keyholing bullets. It will almost always show on paper targets at between 0 and 100 yds.

Re: CMMG rimfire silencer anyone seen yet?

As usual, Silencer Shop provides more information than manufacturers do - https://www.silencershop.com/silencers/rimfire/cmmg-defcan-22.html Weighing just 2.7 ounces, the DefCan 22 is extremely lightweight. Its small frame adds very little length to the end of your rifle Can be utilized with: .22 Sh...

Re: Mitigating/eliminating blowback w/5.56mm can

I use an Elite Iron Bravo 1 on my 300 Blackouts and .308 Wins. with no blow-back.

I have one of their CQC brakes for 5.56 and will try firing one of my 5.56 rifles with the .30 caliber can. I expect there will be no blow-back due to the larger internal volume of the Bravo 1 can.

Oh, it certainly would help to get lefty uppers for suppressed 5.56, but it seems the gas block addressed the issue.

Re: Mitigating/eliminating blowback w/5.56mm can

George, Yes, I shoot lefty. It's the first can/cartridge combination I've had the issue with. The 300 BO, .308 Win., and .458 SOCOM did not produce any noticeable blow-back. Particle blow-back was very slight with the 16" upper, and I might not have noticed it all had I not been pelted while shootin...

Understood. I was merely pointing out that I would be using mostly supersonic ammunition. The different modes would just make it easier to switch back and forth between subs and supers without a lot of trial and error .

Re: Mitigating/eliminating blowback w/5.56mm can

I've ordered a Superlative Arms .750" bleed-off gas block, and will check its effectiveness once installed. I don't expect to fire a lot of subsonic 5.56mm ammunition as most won't cycle a direct impingement AR, but if I can get it to cycle with the Superlative, I just might try the Beck Ammunition ...

Mitigating/eliminating blowback w/5.56mm can

I took my new YHM Turbo out today and used it on American Eagle 55gr. FMJ ammunition and two AR-15 hosts: a 10.5" SBR and a 16" carbine. I noticed debris hitting my face when I fired (with both guns); no debris was blown back when I fired unsuppressed. When I got home, I performed Jeff's Gas Buster ...
