Be careful to not let a cone sit in the threaded area if the skirt is short enough to allow it to move side to side in the tube.

I wouldnt know how to do this modification you are talking about....actually I dont have a clue as to what your really trying to explain. Who would do this kind of work? Having the scoop cut (called the plate port in this pic) into the face of the cone helps direct gas across the bullet's flight pa...

Seems that ATF may have shut him down for "sharing info and vids created by OTHER people."
Clarification of this? Why would the ATF care about videos?

Re: First Form 1 Design

I think it looks good.

I don't think you need the 2" spacer because the DM tube has that built in. Correct me if I am wrong there. Never bought an ASR tube.

.375" bore (or even slightly smaller) should cover all of your bases.

I had never searched for 17-4 tubing, but a quick google looks like it is available. Didn't click on anything to check pricing or availability though. Let us know what you find out.

You're going to bore out a piece of 17-4 round bar to make a tube?

Re: Stepped Baffles versus Cones

The aluminum ones are essentially an OXA. I had one on my HF mini lathe and even that tiny lathe tore that aluminum POS up. The metal OXA is a perfect fit for it. On my slightly bigger lathe (8x16) I have an AXA. Just a hair too big for it, but the OXA would be too small for me, so I had to trim the...

Can you expand on this a little? How did you do this, and how repeatable are the results? 0.010" tolerance, or 0.001" tolerance?

It never occurred to me that this was even possible!

Re: Cone and Spacer Material: Beware of False Advertising

Well, thanks for the information that helped us all learn the truth about the products being sold by MMW. Not sure if you browse the form1 board, but one member posted an email response from MMW that said the cones were in fact 17-4, but were a low "magnetic" grade. His own lab testing results. If y...

Re: Cone and Spacer Material: Beware of False Advertising

On the form 1 board there was a question on whether the Ti was a grade 5 or not. Do you have the capability to test it? Do you have any MMW Ti cones?

Well, come on now. Gotta tell us who it is. If it is a well known vendor, I bet I can post up a question on the Form 1 board and have an answer if you don't want to share. Edit: Since I have a bunch of cones from various suppliers and you mentioning SS spacer material, it narrowed it down pre...

Re: 50BMG baffle design

If I had the money to spare to dump enough into 17-4, I'd be making quite a few 60° cones for my BMG can. The waste of material needed to make them is just too much for me to justify. I'll likely end up with two, possibly three cones and then flat "coned" washers to fill up the rest of the tube. 3" ...

Re: Drilling Misshap

You'd need to go bigger than that. I've heard as small as .040" over bullet diameter is a place to start if you can accurately keep things centered.
