Re: Having cans or parts of engraved.

Not sure how it works for manufacturers, but for individuals any work on the tubes ends prior to approval would be a violation. Commercial engravers who do NFA engraving require that tubes be sent to them with the ends non-machined. Your "tubes" would become silencers as soon as you thread the ends ...

I would contact "fidilis firearms" or one of the sellers on
GunBroker that regularly list NIB colt uppers.

If you are not ready to upgrade to a bigger lathe.
Find a local shop to internal thread your tubes
and use your mini to make your internals.

Alternating gives a less restrictive path for gases moving forward
because the next scoop is in that path when the baffles are alternated 180.
I've learned to drop my K's in the tube randomly.

Who is their right mind would let them do a 1911! Much less Hornady and Brownells! They got their company names mentioned on a prime time TV show  , and also during all the promo's for that episode ......and don't forget future reruns All for the price paid (if any) for the weapons provided ...

I've been running mine for 2 hours and drain off the dirty water/soap.
Run another hour with fresh water/soap and internals are perfect.
But then again I only have 500 to 800 rounds on them.

Re: Ever wonder how often some of these goobs are calling NF

During the RUSH in '86.....form 3's were still being done in a week and form 4's were being approved in a month. At least that is what I remember. This year I mailed 5 in-bound transfers in mid-March, two Colt Thompsons, a Colt M16A2 and 2 for suppressor builds. The transfers for the automatics came...

Re: Extra K or small blast chamber?

You're gong to need an expansion chamber (size??). The .45 is a big hole and I don't think sticking the extra K in there is going to help the way you think unless you were building an integral carbine setup with more length. I think gong the other way .... Bigger expansion chamber and six K's with p...

Yea, and thanks for not blindly recommending KAC as well. Their time has passed but the 'Navy SEALs' generation can't seem to get over them.

Re: Modern shotgun shells shelf life?

My bad....sorry for not understanding. I've never seen a 12ga round deform to the point it won't slide down the tube or be able to be chambered just from sitting in the tube long-term. I've seen rounds become tarnished on the base from sitting in a tube. Telling the user to breakdown the entire weap...

Soak it for a few hours and push the guts out.
Using the 1" dowel will get the push forces where they will do the most good.

How about rounds in the magazine? I see no reason a brand new modern mag can't be fully loaded and sit for years before use. Re: Modern shotgun shells shelf life?

We all pretty much grew up with plastic shell cases. I can remember stories of the old paper ones getting wet and pretty much falling apart when they dried out. I've dropped shells in the water, shook them off and fired them. Heck, some may of ended up in the bag and didn't get used for another year...

For your location, your storage methods are top-notch. You can't get any better than sealed ammo cans with desiccant. If your ok with grabbing an ammo can as your heading out the door, that's fine.....but I always have a to-go bag with mags and ammo, too. I've always had access to a commercial vacuu...
