Re: Good price for a KAC QDSS?
I really wish they would've made the NT-3 version available commercially. If they did, I probably would never have bought the short Surefire and AAC models. The extra mounts needed to hang them all grew into a bunch of seperate uppers with all the extra accessories that burned up a lot of cash that ...
Re: 300 BLK
Yeah, the KAC SBR 300 Black uppers should be great, especially with the new 762 QDC and CQB QDC cans. The 11.5" is a no brainer, but I wonder why they went with 9.5" instead of 9" on the short model? I really like the look of the can up close to the rail. My 9"AAC SDN-6 combo doe...

Re: A2 FH Vs Surefire MB Vs Triple Tap Vs 5.56 MAMS
I think a MAMS is a great choice for a MOD 1, even if you never plan on suppressing it. That with a Colt H1 buffer is very smooth shooting, and runs well on all but the weakest of ammo. The only thing smoother for that combo is an A5 buffer system, but the gain is little in this combo compared to ot...

Re: A2 FH Vs Surefire MB Vs Triple Tap Vs 5.56 MAMS
I've done a lot more shooting with the 5.56 MAMS. I'm really enjoying it, pretty much the way to go when you want a brake. Stays pretty neutral, great recoil control, not much flash, blast is better than other brakes I've tried that control recoil well. It looks like these are going to find permanen...
Re: 300 BLK
I'm still waiting on a 9.5" and a 11.5" KAC 300 uppers. Should be worth the wait though. I have a bunch of AAC and Noveske 300 Blk guns to tide me over for a while.
Has anyone heard an estimate as to when these will start shipping?

Re: Timing a MAMS
Pretty simple then, especially if there's no Rokset on what your taking off. I put the tool in the vice pointing up. Slide the upper down the tool. Wrench off the old muzzle device. Clean the threads and the shoulder on the barrel. Degrease everything. Try out individual shims or combos until it han...

Re: A2 FH Vs Surefire MB Vs Triple Tap Vs 5.56 MAMS
You could possibly be onto something about tightening up groups. I have some 14.5" 5.56 guns that shoot 70gr TSX loads well, and others that don't. Removing the muzzle devices help some of the ones that didn't do so good. I'm thinking that these bullets are easily upset exiting the muzzle. I ha...

Re: A2 FH Vs Surefire MB Vs Triple Tap Vs 5.56 MAMS
Just a quick update per requests. I can be more thorough when I get caught up. The factory MOD1 was shot with a H1 buffer. The 14.5" MOD1 was shot with a CAR buffer. I did try a Noveske mid gas 13.7" barrel with the MAMS, the results were the same as above in the original post. On a Colt 2...

Re: Christmas Cheer barrel length clearance question + engra
That's the area that I'm talking about. A NFA Specialist recommended that area to me years ago for a more discreet location that required no disassembly to see.
And no, I don't have a variance.

Wow, well that is pretty good news then. I've been marking ARs on the bottom by the trigger. This sounds much better.

New cans look good! Are production runs starting anytime soon on these?
What's the scoop on the 110K2? Are these going to be available commercially anytime this year?

New receivers on MOD 1s
Latest batch of Mod 1s that just came in have the new lower receivers without the QD sling mounts. Been waiting on the newer ones to filter down for a while. Only minor complaint is they came with a conventional receiver end plate, not ones with the QD cups.

Re: 5.56 MAMS starting to roll out
I would say there's a good chance of a range report on my my end. :D Just a quick edit to update. 5.56 MAMS rocks! Has recoil control similar to the nasty open brakes, but without so much blast. Recoil was very neutral, red dot basically stayed on target. Of course, it does have some blast, not a lo...
