Yeah, but will those things cycle a semi? My host is 4.5" barrel, I'm sure the 710 fps is out of a rifle, correct?RJT wrote:They have Quiets in stock.

Re: Squeaky, high-pitched-sounding silencers
I saw a youtube vid, 99% sure it was Fireman1291 where he did multiple hosts on Tirant 9 and 45 from different views. One shot was from the target facing him. Almost every shot from that angle had the Hollywood "PEW" sound and I think it was coming off of the bullets going through the air,...

Re: sarasota Fla sheriff dept. will not sign to allow class 3
IMO trust is a better route. It allows for other people that you choose to be in care and use of your NFA items even if you are not present without potentially creating an illegal "transfer" and it also allows you to pass your items on to the person of your choosing if you should die. We a...

Re: Need help picking silencers
I think you're on the right track with the Ti-Rant. I'm trying realllllly hard not to buy one at only $399, and it's a lightweight and quiet can with good reviews. Specwar 5.56 is also a great can, very tough and very quiet. To me, it's too heavy for a 5.56 can though. I'm about to pull the trigger ...

Re: Need some education on seeing a can/upgrading
it's pretty rare to see used cans for sale. They're not that expensive new, $200 tax is same regardless, so if I can buy brand new latest model for under a grand, a used can would have to be pretty cheap to be worth the 6 month+ wait... If I were you I'd start saving up and try to sell that pistol i...

Dovetail-clipped cone?
Anyone tried a clipped cone using a dovetail cutter in from the side? Would this create additional turbulence? And/or minimize POI shift? Forgive the MS Paint drawing, I don't have CAD. https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpa1/v/t1.0-9/10632748_1003595112988294_9196076592426132445_n.jp...

Re: Silencers with Piston or turbine mechanisms
Hello all, I'm a noob here and currently live in a silencer-free zone (Chicago), however I'll be moving to Florida this coming summer and am eagerly awaiting my chance to legally purchase and use suppressors. Come on down. If everyone moving here was into suppressors instead of complaining about ho...

Re: New SIG 762 can
The original purpose of the tapered shape and holes was to create a coaxial space to bleed the blast chamber into. Remove the faux reflex volume, and the shape doesn't make much sense. ... Approximates the shape of the blast coming out of the muzzle. Reduce the [unnecessary] volume of the first cha...

Re: Suppressed 22 TCM?
The Warlock II is only rated for .22 lr, not even .22 Mag so I'm going to say probably not.IslandTimes wrote: But would an aluminum can be able to stand up to the muzzle blast?

Re: Suppressed 22 TCM?
No, the velocities are not the same. The 2,000+ FPS claimed by the 5.7 is for the rifle. The handgun itself gets about 1,690 FPS, while the 22 TCM gets the actual 2,000+ FPS. The 22 TCM rifle gets about 2,800 FPS. ...Finally, the recoil spring on the 22 TCM is incredibly weak. INCREDIBLY weak. No B...

Re: Suppressed 22 TCM?
IDK about suppressing one, but I have fired a 1911 in .22 TCM at an indoor range. All I can tell you is there is a LOT of muzzle blast. Not sure how it compares to the 5.7 as I've not fired one, but it would not be the first thing that popped in my mind as a host LOL. The 5.7 case definitely has les...

Re: Something like the Huntertownarms Kesteral 556 but OK for .204
OK, just found this vid https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... lGp7cW5dDA and he specifically mentions the .204 Ruger. This can also uses their taper mount so you can easily swap it between different hosts.
Hope this helps and good luck whatever can you decide to go with.

Re: Something like the Huntertownarms Kesteral 556 but OK for .204
What rimfire calibers will you be using? Just .22lr or? I believe any suppressor rated for 5.56 should be ok for the .204 Ruger but you want to make sure the mfg is going to cover your can if you ever have a problem. It sounds like you'll be using the centerfire can on multiple hosts so you will pro...
