Re: My very first K baffle.
Did some work on the front cap tonight. Made yet another fixture to hold it, because I have no indexer to space the slots. Faced to length and chamfered. http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s48/paulz463/2013-06-10_18-59-46_902_zps29015224.jpg Cutting the first .125" X .062 wrench slot in the mil...

Re: My very first K baffle.
Here are a couple pics of a workaround I did to keep things concentric on my old lathe with beat up chucks. I was able to do the cone end just fine in a crapped old 3 jaw, just did everything I could without removing it from the chuck, and drilled the center hole under sized. But what happens when I...

Re: My very first K baffle.
I used a high speed pencil grinder with a 1/8" pointed carbide burr. That baffle looks a bit different now, I revised some things on it today.

Re: My very first K baffle.
It should come out close to 183 grams if my math is right. I can probably shave a little bit more off, but I'm not sure if the work vs the return is really worth it.
ETA, make that 166 grams. I did a little more work to the cones today.

Re: My very first K baffle.
Thanks guys.
The project continues. I'll post pics when done.
P.S. It's titanium, so it should be pretty light. Odd stuff to machine though.

My very first K baffle.
Stamp is in hand....... Only took 7 months. 22lr Made the first baffle today, wasn't as hard as I had imagined. .650 long, .860 diameter. There will be eight of them. 60 degree cone, the cone walls are .060 thick. http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s48/paulz463/2013-06-02_16-01-46_187-1_zps0732c341....

Re: My first suppressor build. Done! .22lr 100% titanium
As a few of you mentioned, I am also a bit concerned about the ti to ti threads. I learned this the hard way when I was 14 (almost 20 years ago) and machined some titanium tie rods for my 250r 4-wheeler and they seized up and that sucked (I never did get them apart). Anyway, hopefully a little anti...

You could try google sketch-up its free....maybe not the best is does create basic models. I have found a sheet of paper and a pencil with a big eraser works pretty well to I've tried Sketchup and hate it. I've been using the free cad here, http://www.emachineshop.com/ Still learning it, but it wor...

Has anyone tried this yet?
I'm thinking it's time to do another form 1. 22lr destined to go on a Ruger 22/45 lite Has anyone tried a core like this? Not the whole thing, just the shape of the cross holes. http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s48/paulz463/core.jpg Seems like it would be pretty easy to do on my manual mill and la...

Re:
Hate to throw a spanner in the works, but the GSG barrel is only 0.471" or so in diameter. Not sure what the material is, but it ain't regular 416 stainless used in gun barrel. It's extremely tough. He said the inspiration was the GSG, I thought he was going to do it on something else. A bull ...

Re: Does this seem possible? (integral 10/22 silencer)
Why r you cutting up a bull barrel for this project. I guess I see things different than most, but why not cut down your factory cheap barrel to 4.5" and thread it 1/2-28. Then build your core out of 4130 or stainless or whatever floats your boat. Screw it together and tac weld it to avoid the...

Re: ATF approval times as of late
I don't have the exact dates, but my check for a Form 1 was cashed 13 days after I mailed it in. And it was 3 months from me mailing the forms in to stamp in hand. Nancy Flannigan was my examiner.

Re: Does this seem possible? (integral 10/22 silencer)
I held it in V blocks when drilling and you could definitely tell that it was a little on the flimsy side once I had a few holes drilled. The OP wants to remove a LOT more strength by cutting into all of the tube's outside walls. I expect more than a little flimsy in that case. Good post! Looks goo...

Re: Does this seem possible? (integral 10/22 silencer)
the whole rifle weighs in right at 8 pounds. Not exactly light, but far from uncomfortable to shoot. It has a Kidd single stage and I built the stock from scratch, so that makes it even better. Regular velocity ammo is still fairly loud due to the super sonic crack, but Remington subs shoot real nic...

Re: Does this seem possible? (integral 10/22 silencer)
I joined just to reply to this topic. :D I just finished one that is eerily similar a month ago on a form 1. Found a used Shaw bull barrel for a host, drilled it out .260 for 6.25", the drill followed nice and straight, lots of oil and pulling it back to clear the flutes. Cut it off to 16.25&qu...
