I am sorry to inform you that you are screwed without at least a fragment of that baffle or face payment of another stamp.

Re: K Baffle Design (by 16 year old)

What kind of Vape juice should I use in a Suppressor while trying to boost my Instagram presence? Which end of the suppressor am I supposed to inhale from? I suggest to the interlopers that mounting a go pro to the slide and using ammonium nitrate based juice while pulling the bald-win lever and su...

Re: Superwool anyone?

I know little about super wool but if it adsorbs liquids a wipe design may perform well if you don't blow it apart like wet tissue paper. I suspect a suppressor cover would be its best use.

Re: Superwool anyone?

While not ineffective Super-wool or other glass fiber materials are basic WW2 tech that is outdated and not recommended. A standard cone and spacer w/ ports is far more effective economical and without the need for constant rebuilding/repacking or the possibility of a additional tax stamp. Mixing ab...

Re: Past predictions

The current models have not topped out as they continue to shrink in size and maintain a high level of performance. Much of what I have preached over the years has come true. Smaller size = high performance as gases are worked harder with small volume suppressors. "few listened" when I sta...

Past predictions

A long time ago I made some predictions about where I thought suppressor tec was headed. As I recall my money was on noise cancellation through using the gas against itself causing dissipation of the energy that may be perceived as sound. I think I hit it on the head with the Ruger melted baffle but...

Selling items of little interest is a fools mission. How about some pocket nukes or at least high grade explosives mail-order.

First welcome to ST or as its often called the obsession. I don't know what your knowledge is about suppressors so if I am remedial in what is said forgive me. The 7.62x54R is a supersonic cartridge in standard loading's and will never be silent. You can diminish the report to the shooter but anyone...

Re: Looking for screen washers

Other than the need to take out the current ne'er-do-wells screen washers can't be destroyed by port blast as they are in front of the muzzle and not around the barrel.

Re: Looking for screen washers

After seeing a museum quality HDMS and its packing I have allot of respect for the bronze washers and their roll in suppression. With the extensive porting used in the HDMS I can't see much suppression from the roll of screen wrapped around the barrel. The tech developed by Dater for the early AWC p...

Yes I'm well aware that bronze screen exists. I need washers or better yet washers with a 1/4" hole in the middle. Its the concentric home thing thats the problem, Short of designing and building a punch set, which isnt impossible to be sure I dont know there is anything off the shelf I can do...

I have a Hi Standard I want to do old school with screen washers. I have enough cans that work well. Anyone know where I can get screen washers? Bronze or SS. Re: Baffle thickness for different calibers

What are considered minimum thicknesses of baffles for different calibers. Also minimum thickness for spacers between baffles. How much effect will heat treating 17-4 have on how thin you can go? Of course the answer is “until it collapses” but that doesn’t make for a fun day. Of course there will ...

Re: K baffle length ?

Baffles must be created that are effective for the caliber. The K baffle is the most difficult to produce but yields the highest performance. Careful study and understanding is required. I find this patent to be helpful to understand porting that can be applied to the standard K using a 55-60* skirt...

Re: K baffle length ?

A skirt angle of 55-60* with a thickness of .050 or less. The skirt and back rake of the face must meet in a angle or small radius. This area is important for the porting to work. If you have problems switch to cone baffles w/ ports.

Only use high temperature anti-seize ,its normally silver or copper colored. Molly bore paste is not what you want to use.

Re: Beginning build weight question

That's massive but curable. It depends on the thread pitch but trimming both tubes to .050 will be more than enough. I would do hoop strength calculations to verify. End caps can be thinned out as well. Non stressed areas of .025-.030 is not uncommon. You may take more out of the tubes using double ...

Re: Jailbreaking cans?

AWC often recessed the end cap then fusion welded them. This makes determining the tube wall thickness difficult. If its too thin then threading becomes difficult for the new caps plus you might loose a baffle in the process. Curtis is the man for a re-core but why replace the K baffles, cleaning in...
